The Cox Voice Everywhere app is a mobile application that allows users to access their Cox Voice service from anywhere using their smartphone. With the app, users can make and receive calls, access their home voicemail, and use their Cox Voice features such as Call Waiting. The app also allows users to access their phone contacts and make long-distance calls at no extra cost.

Cox Voice Everywhere functions

What started out as a weak app to begin with has gotten even worse over the last few months. Broken: • Touch ID works sometimes, then stops working for no reason. Forces you to enter the password again. Used to be reliable. • Calls don’t ring to the cell most of the time now. Used to be reliable. • Calls that SHOULD’VE rang to the cell get “delayed.” That is, when you open the app and click on the calls button (bottom center), the last call never sent to the cell actually rings the phone. It’s like it’s queued up or something. Never happened before. Missing Feature: • Need the ability to add numbers to the block list from the app. And while you’re at it, increase the number of blocks available to a reasonable number. The current count is WAY too low. September 18th update: Still useable. Why? October 22, 2019 update: Contacted the app. No fix and no mention of when one would be forthcoming. Very disappointing. October 24, 2029 update: Now I can’t even log into the app (“Unknown Error”). What an embarrassment. A day or two later, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app (for the 5th time) and at least got back to being able to log in without error. Still doesn’t work right. I don’t get why a big company like the app would create a decent app, break it, and then ignore all reports of the defects.

While it does provide access to the app phone voicemails (which preciously worked better within the app’s other app), they’re not tying. I attempted to use the call forward feature where the app phone calls are routed to my iPhone. When I attempted to set the switch in Settings, a message pops up that directs me to the Settings>Voice Everywhere to enable the microphone, but there’s no such setting. Going to ios Settings>Privacy>Microphone brings no joy. The “Info” tab within the app tells me to “feel free to reach out to them”, but provides no means to. When I called the app tech support, they had never heard of this app... yet it’s the only way to listen to voicemail !!! Argh.

Just tried to use this app because hopefully I can block the unwanted calls that Nomorobo REFUSES to block on my landline. I tried to turn on the switch to allow incoming calls to the app, and it wouldn’t turn on, saying I needed to allow it to access the microphone. Follow instructions and NO SWITCH TO TURN ON MICROPHONE. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Logging in, I gave the app permission to use the microphone. Tried to turn the allow calls to app and guess what, it says I need to allow access to the microphone. I JUST DID, STUPID!! So, I go to the settings again, turn the microphone access switch off and in, and go back to the app. SAME BLEEPING RESULT!! WHAT PART OF THE MICROPHONE IS ON AND ALLOWING ACCESS DOES THIS STUPID APP NOT UNDERSTAND?!?
No more cordless phone

I was going to buy a cordless phone to connect the base under the table in the other room where my modem is and keep the cordless phone in my office. I don’t have phone jacks in my apartment. The app saved me from buying the cordless phone. Calls are transferred to my cell, works great. Saved me from buying second line from ATT as I had to buy the phone service as part of my package deal and finally need it.
