★ ★ ★ Apocrypha Overview

What is Apocrypha? Apocrypha / Deuterocanonical: Bible's Lost Books is a free app that includes the books of the apocrypha, which were originally published in the 1611 King James Bible. The app also includes the 70 missing verses in 2 Esdras, which are not part of the King James Version Apocrypha but are revealed in the Cambridge Annotated Study Apocrypha. The app features TTS audio, offline access, auto-scrolling, full-screen mode, bookmarks, notepad, highlighting, big and bold fonts, searchable keywords, adjustable font size and spacing, 3 verse layout modes, resume button, and landscape or portrait orientation. The app also includes the King James Version (KJV) and the World English Bible (WEB) for free download.

Software Features and Description

1. Apocrypha / Deuterocanonical: Bible's Lost Books includes these books: 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras, Tobit, Judith, Additions to Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, the Letter of Jeremiah, Prayer of Azariah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, and Laodiceans.

2. + Free Bible App from the same developer, The King James Version (KJV) & The World English Bible (WEB) are available to download.

3. The King James Version (KJV) & The World English Bible (WEB) are available to download within the app for free.

4. The apocrypha is a selection of books which were published in the original 1611 King James Bible (KJV).

5. With more than 20 English translations of the Bible currently available, the King James Version (1611) is still considered by many scholars to be the most influential and popular version.

6. The 70 missing verses in 2 Esdras are not part of the King James Version Apocrypha, but are revealed in the Cambridge Annotated Study Apocrypha -edited by: Howard C.

7. Many claim the apocrypha should never have been included in the first place, raising doubt about its validity and believing it was not God-inspired (for instance, a reference about magic seems inconsistent with the rest of the Bible: Tobit chapter 6, verses 5-8).

8. The word 'apocrypha' means 'hidden.' Fragments of Dead Sea Scrolls dating back to before 70 A.D. contained parts of the apocrypha books in Hebrew, including Sirach and Tobit.

9. The apocrypha was a part of the KJV for 274 years until being removed in 1885 A.D. A portion of these books were called deuterocanonical books by some entities, such as the Catholic church.

10. In 1604, King James I of England authorized the re-translation of the Bible into English.

11. Others believe it is valid and that it should never have been removed- that it was considered part of the Bible for nearly 2,000 years before it was recently removed a little more than 100 years ago.

  • Nice find

    By Ovadoseme (Pcmac user)

I wouldn’t have known about this or the other missing books if it wasn’t for my Nation of people. HalleluYAH
  • Good for Reading

    By Tonefinnay (Pcmac user)

But the controls do not work all the time. The bookmarks don’t work at all, including highlight features, but the stories of the Bible are always available. And I know it must’ve been hard to get all these this app books together, but please fix the features or maybe create ones that are more simpler. People need to know of the books of the this app and it should be a pleasant experience for everyone. Thank you
  • Time is up

    By one&done12 (Pcmac user)

I would have given this app 5 stars but it's missing "word search". Otherwise, I am most grateful for this portable translation. This book has the basic number of books circulating while some may have more. However, this keeper is good ground to walk on in faith.
  • All the features don’t work properly on iPad

    By Shawna4God (Pcmac user)

This is a great app; however some of the features don’t work properly… Like the note screen, etc.… It doesn’t work properly on my iPad. I hope someone reads this and fixes it.
