  • Do not use Aetna App to make a payment

By earth on cirs (Pcmac user)

the app failed to process my payment to provider twice. I placed payment for two of my claims using this the app mobile app. They both failed. I’ve got past due notice from the provider after I made payment. I called them to explain that I made payment via the app mobile app already and had a receipt. Then, a few days later, I’ve got refund for this payment, it was almost month later since I made a payment. I called the provider and apologized this late payment which was not my fault and sent a check them immediately. Now, another claim, I paid for the claim on Mar 19, 2019. Today, on May 14, I’ve got past due notice from the provider. So far, I didn’t see refund logged for the claim on the the app mobile app, so I thought my payment was processed and sent to the provider successfully. I called the app, I was on hold for a few minutes, and this is what they said: They, the app, sent my payment to the provider on May 25, 2019, 6 days after I made a payment via the app mobile app. However, the provider never cash it, hence my payment was automatically refunded. Then, why the refund wasn’t shown app soon? And, why payment process didn’t work? Why the provider never cash my payment, is it their fault or the app’s fault? My conclusion: I will never use the app mobile app to make my payment to provider. I will use my HSA account, the provider’s online payment system, or send a check!
  • Doesn’t function well. Infrastructure is 20th century.

    By Not-Mozart (Pcmac user)

Most recent issue: I lost my job and needed a document stating my last day of coverage, which was about 1 week away. the app could not produce a digital version, mail and fax were the only option. They absolutely would not help in my effort to get new coverage in a week, and could only say “I’m sorry” to the fact that their terrible infrastructure was going to leave me without coverage for a month. They don’t seem to understand that there are humans on the customer side of their business. UX failure: I cannot search for a doctor (there is no search bar). Cannot filter doctors. The only way you can find a doctor is to walk in front of the office building because it’s based on location with no other way of functioning. From a UX, and general usability position this app is dumb and pointless. What’s worse is when I had to call, the person took 10 min to do the search I could do myself, then they could only provide me with a phone number. Then after that the doctor office themselves won’t book appointments on Friday at all. I feel like I just warped into 1983.
  • Wow When Will It Work

By Randy R Robbins (Pcmac user)

As of March 2019 this app is still not working for me at this point I’m assuming I’m gonna be the last type of member to gain access if at all us the app PPO members want to use this app so bad every type of the app customer needs access to this app Functionality improvement—if your a customer of additional the app products that information should be provided on the app as well such as if your enrolled in health and vision and or dental and if your enrolled in an employer plan and a Medicare plan because some people have both and maybe include those cards digitally in addition to the primary the app product 2. the app it would be great to incorporate Apple health records maybe even Apple Watch records into the app since this type of data is highly securable and encrypted today syncing through the patient(s) medical portal(s) as well then connecting that information back to the the app app and Apple Health Update Nov 2019— still doesn’t work only available to a limited audience still Medicare Advantage members really need access to this I don’t have a computer so checking claims is next to impossible on my phone or tablet it is ridiculous that we are going into 2020 plans going on 2 years this app is still not available most other insurers have apps available to their full range of members
  • Some suggestions for ease of use!!!

    By Vishalabaligar (Pcmac user)

    1. Introduce review feature for providers. It’s difficult to choose a provider without knowing their prior bedside manner and overall effectiveness in treating a patient. Either link the app to google reviews or allow for a review feature within the app which will allow only this app app users to view and review providers! 2. Integrate calendar app with this app or introduce a new calendar feature within this app app. Once an appointment is booked with a provider it is very tiring to go into a separate calendar app to create an event with provider details like name, location and other notes. If its integrated or a new calendar feature is introduced then after making an appointment a calendar icon next to the provider can create an appointment for the provider. This appt will include provider details and the subscriber will only need to add the time. 3. A new feature to choose and record providers such as PCPs, Dentist, Opthamologists and other providers. Since these are frequently visited providers it will be helpful to have a record of them on the app 4. Reminder feature A fun feature would be to introduce a reminder feature which would prompt the subscriber to take their medications on time everyday. Thanks for reading such a long winded review!
