Software Features and Description

1. AvyPal uses color-coded indicators to indicate the avalanche risk of backcountry terrain.

2. GPS Mode - Uses GPS data to audibly alert you if you are descending or ascending a slope angle that is associated with avalanche risk.

3. Fall Line Mode - Shows the angle and avalanche risk of a slope you intend to descend, or ascend.

4. The AvyPal phone app can assist backcountry travelers in identifying potential avalanche terrain.

5. Slope Mode - Shows the angle and avalanche risk of a slope you intend to cross.

6. Yellow indicates a lower probability avalanche slope (25-30 degrees or 45-50 degrees).

7. AvyPal does not replace professional avalanche safety training, experience or good judgement.

8. Red indicates a high probability avalanche slope (30-45 degrees).

9. Green indicates slopes of less likely avalanche potential (less than 25 degrees or greater than 50 degrees).

Install AvyPal app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using AvyPal on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "AvyPal"
The search will reveal the AvyPal app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once AvyPal is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including AvyPal.
Now enjoy AvyPal on PC.
