Download and install the C&O Canal Explorer app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .
- Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using C&O Canal Explorer on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "C&O Canal Explorer"
- The search will reveal the C&O Canal Explorer app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once C&O Canal Explorer is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including C&O Canal Explorer.
- Now enjoy C&O Canal Explorer on PC.

Difficult to navigate. Not very useful for planning trips. Somewhat useful while on a trail but only so far as telling u how much further to next spot on trail.

I’m enjoying this app while walking the C&O Canal trails. Photos, information, and landmarks are useful and interesting. App gives real time location so it’s easy to tell how far to the next destination. Plenty of links to external sites and maps to help plan and learn the history of the canal.

Doesn’t work on new iPad or iPhone XR

Just downloaded on both iPad and XR and it has had a spinning wheel for 10 minutes on both devices. All else with devices is operational. Refund please.
