What is Meccano? The Meccano app is the official companion app for Meccano MeccaSpider and M.A.X. robots. It allows users to interact with the robots, animate MeccaSpider, make it crawl and prowl, emit eerie sounds and spray venom. The app also enhances the M.A.X. experience by recording his movements and giving him new faces. The app is free to download and contains no in-app purchases.

Install Meccano app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Meccano on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Meccano"
The search will reveal the Meccano app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Meccano is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Meccano.
Now enjoy Meccano on PC.

✔ Pros:

- The remote control mode works, although it is limited.

☹ Cons:

- The app has a lot of flaws and does not seem to interface well with the robot.

- Downloads within the app required to interact with the robot do not load and get stuck.

- The robot has squeaky wheels and a clicking neck, and the neck servo goes left or right when exiting remote control, which can break the servo.

- Meccano/Spin Master does not seem to be in a hurry to help customers or fix the issues with the app.

Great concept but terrible interface...

My son got a M.A.X. for Christmas and we have been trying to program it. The app has a lot of flaws and doesn’t seem to interface right with the robot. The remote mode works although limited. You cannot change the speed that MAX travels. Also when you record a manual path you cannot name and save it. When you click in the white box the keyboard does not appear. The programming tool is awful! After identifying the servos the claw will open (using rotate command) but it will not close. The same goes for the neck servo. I can get the neck to tilt to one side but it will not tilt back in the other direction. The roll duel motor command had to be set with one forward and one backward to get the robot to go forward or reverse. Not very logical. When I link different commands they do not seem to all operate. I will be contacting this app directly to see if they can offer any direct support but buyer beware! Unfortunately if you are reading this you probably already have purchased a MAX and are downloading this app to use it. I will update this review if this app is able to solve these issues for me.

Downloads within the app that are required to interact with my son's MAX will not load. They get stuck and will not resume. Deleting the app and reinstalling did not help. From looking at other recent comments, it does not appear that this app/Spin Master are in any hurry to help their customers or fix these issues. Cool toy and fun to build with my son, but a lousy app limits its capabilities.
My Meccano max is broken

Max has squeaky wheels , clicking neck , whenever I exit remote control his neck servo goes left or right and tries to break the servo mine is defective
This is the worst app ever!!

I bought Max for my son for Christmas. He was so excited! Downloaded the app. Built Max... Been trying for 10 months to get the app to work. Such a waste of money. We only bought Max because he could use his phone to interact with him. Not sure I will ever spend money on another SpinMaster product.
