Download and install Clips on your Laptop or Desktop computer

If you want to install and use the Clips app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Clips in the search bar and press Search. Click on Clipsapplication icon. A window of Clips on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Clips for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Download on Andriod, Iphone

Hi, Apple! 🤗🤗 So my brother said “It’s impossible to get the Clips app 1.0 for iPads”. I keep on telling him to do a lot of research about the app, so I can’t find any research either! 😫😫 Plus, all the iPhone versions only have the new Clips! 😪😪 What should I do? 😓😓 Should I find actual research for the older Clips? Or should I call you about the app so you can change it back to the older Clips? Please send me your response about this situation, and hopefully you change it back to Clips 1.0! 😝😝 (oh yeah and I totally remember that when Clips 1.0 was on my other iPad, i was really loving it! So, i was making some videos outside of my house! I really loved it 2 years ago! Ahhhh! 😆😆 but when I was talking, the Live Titles were getting a little bit messed up, due to my voice being kinda clear. *that is the point* And finally, I just wanna say, I sorta get bored of the new version of Clips, and what’s that “thing” in the top-right corner? Any ideas? If you have any ideas what that thing is, please send a response; PRONTO!!!! *LOL* Nice update btw. 🥰🥰🤤🤤 JUST ONE MORE THING!! When you start to see the intro in Clips, I’ve always wondered who that girl was. Doesn’t she have a name? Does she talk? I’ve always wanted to know. 👌😜 Cool app, though! 😺😺 *I’m trying to say, if this app gets the most 5-star ratings, then you can change it back to Clips 1.0!* I’ll be waiting! 👌😁
  • Apple Clips Rocks!

Apple clips is an amazing app. Probably better than some outstanding video making apps. It has great features like moving labels, posters and stickers to the feature where when you talk, words would match it on screen. Though it can freeze sometimes, it still is a great way for me and other people to make videos. Also, there should be a feature where you can add two songs into one video. I would also like if there was more selections to the free music. Plus, the music sometimes sounds to annoying. Other features I would like is if you can title your projects or re-type things on posters, including special Disney ones. On the other hand, some features are one of the kind. For example, on IPhone X, you can have special screens in the background of your videos, like landscapes to the Millenium Falcon, without a green screen. In conclusion, this app is really helpful for creators but sometimes laggy. Overall, I gave this app 4 stars out of 5.
  • No updates, flaws, and annoyance at your fingertips

I have the same problem as Barbib 3. The wheel keeps turning and nothing is happening. I have tried everything to try to get it to work, from exiting the app to powering off my phone. Nothing works. No matter what, that little gray wheel is still turning without getting anywhere. They say this version will fix bugs, and yet no one is fixing this vital flaw that doesn’t allow anyone to get new and updated versions. Furthermore, the App Store has a notification and I can’t get rid of it because it won’t update. I don’t know about anyone else, but for me that little red circle is so annoying. Usually I can get rid of it in an instant. But now nothing is working and that infuriates me even more. Please fix this or I will be forced to delete the app. It’s not going anywhere. The app itself is not the best, either. Once you put stickers in, they don’t go out and stay there for the entire clip. Same with the music, and when you are editing a video, you can only edit the end and beginning. Not the middle. It is fun to make these, but creators, please notice these major flaws and improve them so that this app can be used as enjoyable and satisfactory as people have in mind, and then impress them even more! I know I sound like someone who complains about everything, and I don’t mean to be. There are just major flaws. Please recognize and fix these as soon as possible. Thank you!
  • Could use a few things.

    by Sunglasses 🕶
I would like to start off by saying that you need to get it!!! It’s AMAZING. I love this app. I’ve had it for a long time. Great for making skits, and just regular vids for YouTube/social media or just for your enjoyment. Alright, I have some suggestions. Could you please add a feature where you can do voice over?? I would love to be able to do that. I would also like if you could allow better editing. For example, instead of just letting up trim the beginnings and ends, let us cut off some in the middle. I would LOVE it you could let us choose how long we want add the stickers or labels, because they just stay there the whole clip, and it gets annoying. One more thing. I would also like it if you could allow us to choose how long we want the music on the video. Thanks I hope you can make this happen
  • Use it daily, but have suggestions

I use this app a lot. I love how I can tap and hold my finger on the play button so it can record as long as I have to. I also like the quality of the graphics, posters, and stickers. Moreover the music options are the best part for me! I especially love how the music fades in and out by itself at the beginning and end of the video. One of my suggestions is that I would love to have guides for rectangular videos and not only square videos. Sometimes I make my videos rectangular for my Instagram story, and sometimes I didn’t align it properly on Clips (it happens a lot actually!) and then my video has a black stripe on one side once uploaded to IG. Graphically it looks really bad, so then I have to use videoshop for this. Also, I would love a bit more control on the filters. Other than that, I love it!
  • Over 5+ hours of work lost with this app- BEWARE

    by 946802789
Clips is a great app I like to use to make videos. Sadly, it keeps crashing, and often freezes a lot. I’ve already sacrificed over 5 hours of dedicated work lost due to this app. Today I encountered a frozen screen saying “Downloading from iCloud” while finishing up a project, even though I had never uploaded the project to iCloud. After waiting a long time, I closed and refreshed the app multiple times but the screen stuck, and I couldn’t access any of my videos, and had to start over again. I’m very disappointed and I’m no longer planning to use clips anymore. I still can’t believe Apple hasn’t fixed the app yet after reading similar reviews. Very disappointed right now.
  • Needs a couple small things

    by IAMLINK2316
This is a great app, but we need transition effects between clips BADLY! Also some vocal effects would be nice. Also there is no way to loop a background track/music for a certain section, this would be a great addition to clips, and on the same subject, there is no CLIPS folder in the new FILES app, nor is there a way to add one or the app, seems counterintuitive, I had to save my projects to the camera roll or to the garage band folder in the FILES app :/ I just would like to save my projects into a clips folder in FILES app and transfer from there to my computer. Doesn’t seem like that is a lot to ask for,... The clips app would be amazing with these additional features, Hope to see this happen, Thanks Apple
  • Great App!👍👍👍 (apple developers please read)

I love this app so much! It’s so cool how you can edit things, make videos, and take cool pictures. Me and my friends like to make funny videos, and the editing helps so much! This is probably the best apple app! Now to the bad parts. I’m not judging the app or anything there is just a small problem. When I make videos I like how you can add music on there. I like how you can use the many greats songs picked out for you. Sometimes I feel like there is a specific song that would go great with a video that I make. So I go to my music but when I go on there nothing happens. I click on my playlists but no songs show up and I can’t search for anything. If you can please fix this. Also, I was very excited for the new update with the selfie scenes. But when I updated clips and I went on the app nothing changed. I see on the pictures that there is another option next to camera but when I go on my app I only have camera, library, and posters. If you can, please fix this because I updated the app and nothing happened. Still, this app is amazing and I totally recommend it! Thank you for this amazing app!
  • Good basic video app - room to improve

    by Verba, PhD
I’m hard of hearing and am pushing more captions for science communication. So I’m grateful there’s an option! I LOVE the various options for setting subtitles. You must record live to get subtitles (unless it’s a voiceover). You cannot input a previously recorded video and get subtitles as the software doesn’t detect the language. I’ve tried to do voiceover when I forgot the subtitles and it is just too much work to add for anything longer than a few seconds due to timing and accuracy. This would be a HUGE perk to both the deaf community and because many people use their phones on silent. There’s a market for it- look at clipomatic and google presentations. I’d pay like 0.99$ for little optional upgrades to auto detect language. Clips doesn’t do transitions between clips either.
  • Unreliable, flaws that defeat the apps purpose

    by student at marcus highschool
The pictures I used for each of my clips had to be saved to my camera roll to not show up as missing in the app. I feel like the app should save the photos as part of the video even if they aren’t in my photos anymore. It is nice that they provide several background music samples you can use for free, but I couldn’t listen to or use any of them except one random one when I was trying to click on them. It sort of defeats the purpose of them being there and being free if nothing happens when you click on them. Also, when I was using the app, it quit randomly on me several times for no reason I can see, just like a lot of other apple apps I used to have. I think this is not only annoying, but makes the app a little to difficult to use, contradicting the fact that it’s supposed to be convenient.
