  • Not enough new features to be “Cubasis 3”

    By MartiAmazing (Pcmac user)

I’m a long time Cubase pro user and have been using the app 2 for over a year now. this app gave us much needed updates such as group tracks and more effects slots. But there are some reasons why this should’ve been an update to the app 2, and why it’s not worth being a new $50 version of the app. Some of my gripes: no sidechain, no tempo automation, no track in mixer for send effects (so you can’t eq your reverbs, among other things), you can’t send a group tracks output to another group, no duplicate button (yes there is copy and paste but a duplicate button would make things go a lot smoother). Also why did minisampler’s functions get taken away? Why do I have to use the app 2 to make custom presets? I really want to love the app, and I do to an extent. But for now it’s still not able to be a complete daw. For me it’s a great song writing tool and mobile light daw, but it really has the possibility to be so much more. Looking forward to its future.
  • Theoretically speaking

the app on the iPhone is a godsend, and the program is just about as good as it gets for ios (not to mention IpadOS). However there are a number of glitches currently that make this a work in progress. I’m not sure it was ready for primetime, but I am sure it will get there, and regret nothing. Im still going to use it in the meantime, in spite of the crashes, midi playback issues, problems with Auv3/IAA presets and what not. I look forward to giving this all the stars.

This needs to be said..people are complaining about the price and the difference between the app 2 and 3..first this is very different from the app 2 like a new program..more effects slots, which is well needed...bus tracks together which was needed and so much more added..the 50 dollar price is good because this is for the money makers..the app 2 was to get your ideas in motion and explore the possibilities...this app is for serious people looking to make money and join the world with professional quality music..I love this program so much..this is the future of mobile recording..just bought it and already laying down some fire tracks...buy this is you are serious...thanks Steinberg..
  • I bought this... :(

    By M1n Studios (Pcmac user)

I bought this to use Voloco in side a daw. But it’s not working at all in app. So I tried it with audio bus and nope. So the main reason I bought the app for doesn’t work. WOW. Disappointed. Thought I was finally getting away from GarageBand but nope back to apple products that work. 🤦🏼 should have know better. Update: finally got Voloco to work in the app after messing with it for awhile. And when I load the app it automatically opens with it working when Loading the project it’s saved in. Added one star back so far. DSP: is this showing my effects processing ability? So with ONLY voloco open it’s at 40% that’s just one plugging. I’m on a the Xs max. So I see I will have to record all my vocals first then close Voloco then to mix’s and master. This is just me having to readjust to a new work flow and mapping it out in my brain. I’m use to mixing as I go. So it will take some getting use to but I’m up for that hopefully it will make my work flow faster and more effective. Hopefully the app plug-ins take no DSP so I can get the most out of the DSP when using AUv3 plugins. I also have a IPad Pro but am trying to get the most out of my Xs max before jumping over to my IPad Pro which hopefully has more DSP power. Will let you know ASAP.
