Install MOTIV Video app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using MOTIV Video on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "MOTIV Video"
- The search will reveal the MOTIV Video app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once MOTIV Video is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including MOTIV Video.
- Now enjoy MOTIV Video on PC.

- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use MOTIV Video,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "MOTIV Video" » then Click "Install".
- MOTIV Video will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Nice app but extreme battery drain

I love the controls in this app. But I'm noticing severe battery drain while recording video with this app vs. recording with the iOS camera. In both instances using an MV88 for the audio with phone set to airplane mode. Recorded a 3-4 minute video and with this app I saw as much as 10% or more battery drain, whereas with the iOS camera I only saw 1-2% battery drain for the same length recording.

Can’t be relied upon (anymore)

Update: It’s become unreliable. Apart from the level to make sure the shot is straight, I can’t recommend it anymore. I’ve had long sets ruined because the app just stops recording. This is after a reinstall. It used to be solid as a rock. I’ll stick with Filmic Pro.
This app is very helpful in that it allows the mic gain of the MV88 to be controlled via the app and not have to switch to the default audio Shure MV app. Also, the peak meters are a welcome addition too (previously I used Filmic or Impact for the meters) but this is tailor made for the hardware.
All in all, big thanks to the Shure team for a great piece of hardware and the standalone video app. Will update review after more usage and comment on any room for improvement.

Audio sync is off and not noticing vast quality improvement.

So far I like this, but on a couple of short videos the video freezes at the end while the audio continues. I just have to record a few seconds more than I need or use the iPhone camera app.
On a 40 minute video I shot, the audio sync was off by 1 second immediately. I don’t know how long a video needs to be to have this effect. I was able to shift the audio in Premiere Pro.
Also, I am not noticing any difference than when I use the iPhones built-in microphone. Maybe I’ll notice something eventually.

Need work

Often the app produces video files with the video and audio out of synch. While the video and audio are fine the sync issue makes it unusable. I have a 1 hour video that I’m trying to manually align to salvage.
Using it to record is hit or miss. I’ve seen it stop on its own after recording 14 minute of video when there is plenty of storage space. The record button doesn’t always record.
Net is 1 out of 6 times it’s recorded and produced an in sync video. Which is unfortunate because a lot of the app is very good, but it fails at reliably recording.
