What is XTide?

XTide is an app that provides tide and current predictions in various formats. It is based on the open-source XTide for Unix and includes a harmonics file for tide data in the United States. The app supports custom harmonics files and generates graphs, text listings, and calendars.

Software Features and Description

1. XTide includes a harmonics file (tide data) for the United States only due to legal issues with the data from other countries, but supports custom harmonics files.

2. You should not use this program or any data files that might be distributed with it if anyone or anything could come to harm as a result of an incorrect tide prediction.

3. The author assumes no liability for damages arising from use of this program OR of any 'harmonics data' that might be distributed with it.

4. (Accurate tide predictions can only be made if the 'harmonics data' for the relevant location are good.

5. Unfortunately, the only way the maintainer of those data has of knowing when they are bad is when someone with access to authoritative tide predictions or observations reports a problem.

6. XTide's predictions do not incorporate the effects of tropical storms, El Niño, seismic events, subsidence, uplift, or changes in global sea level.

7. XTide provides tide and current predictions in a wide variety of formats.

8. This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Install XTide app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using XTide on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "XTide"
The search will reveal the XTide app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once XTide is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including XTide.
Now enjoy XTide on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use XTide,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "XTide" » then Click "Install".
- XTide will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

The map only shows US tide stations. Not very helpful for anyone cruising anywhere else. Developer should make this obvious so people don’t have their time wasted.
doesn't work

spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make this work but it just shows a map an nothing else. No help or instructions.
