What is Rec'n'Share?

Rec'n'Share is a music app that allows users to record audio and video along with songs from their music library and share their performances with the world. The app also offers features such as tempo detection, multi-track recording, and editing functions.

Software Features and Description

1. Connect a compatible Yamaha instrument to your smart phone/tablet (*1) to simultaneously record video from your phone’s camera, stereo digital audio from your Yamaha product and stereo backing tracks from your music library (*2)(*3).

2. Rec'n'Share allows you to record audio and video along with songs from your music library and then share your performances with the world.

3. Pick a song from your music library and the app’s tempo detection let’s you add a click, change the tempo and select sections to repeat.

4. (*3) It is also possible to record only your performances without backing tracks.

5. It digitally enhances the way you practice, record and perform music.

6. (*4) The data uploaded to SNS is limited to your own original songs, sound sources, or those licensed from right holders.

7. (*1) Please check your local Yamaha web site for compatible instruments and connections.

8. You can upload your finished performances to YouTube / Facebook / Dropbox / Instagram etc (*4).

9. After recording, use the app’s editing functions to trim and balance the tracks.

Install Rec'n'Share app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Rec'n'Share"

Once Rec'n'Share is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Rec'n'Share.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Rec'n'Share,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Rec'n'Share" » then Click "Install".
- Rec'n'Share will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Starting to get disappointed

At first this app was amazing and worked very well with Yamaha ead 10. Buttttt. After owning it for a few months things are getting pretty bad. App won’t recognize ead 10 is connected 80%of the time which is one thing. But the major thing is that my recording aren’t in sync with the music anymore. I’m talking about being off by a whole beat. That’s unacceptable especially being aimed towards drummers. Starting to really get annoyed. Please update the app. It’s been so long and you’re screwing a lot of people over at this point.
IOS 11.2.5 Works perfect on IPad Pro 10.5

Works 100% perfect on IOS 11.2.5 IPad Pro 10.5” Great app which allows playback of songs both ITunes and personal with ability to video at high medium or low settings. Also allows playback at pre determined beats per minute and all 100% free! Works especially great with IPad in landscape mode!
Will not work with EAD10

When I first got this item it would take some effort to get it to connect to the EAD10. Most times I would get it to work with GarageBand first, then switch to Rec & Share to use it. Now, it won’t connect at all. I can’t get the EAD10 to connect to this app on my iPhone 6s, but when tested on my friend’s iPhone X it worked fine. The 6s is running iOS 12.3.1, and SHOULD be compatible, but it won’t work at all. I am really frustrated because there is zero information about this problem online.

Don’t listen to the 1-star reviews saying it won’t connect to the EAD10. They are reviews written by people who cannot take the liberty of looking up how to connect them to the app. Since I know off the top of my head the required cables to connect them, I will list them: USB 2.0 A-Male to B- Male (Plug B-Male side into the rectangular port on module.) Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (Plug A-Male side from the first cable listed into the USB A port in adapter and then plug lightning port into your phone.) If it still shows that it won’t connect try restarting the app and unplugging the phone and reconnecting it. Hope this helped.
