What is OnBase?

The OnBase Mobile Healthcare app is an ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solution that offers three modes of use - registration, stand-alone, and integration with Epic Canto/Haiku. The app streamlines processes, reduces costs, and increases the accuracy of patient data. In registration mode, users can sign and complete registration forms pre-populated with patient information, eliminating the need to scan paper forms and speeding up the registration process. In stand-alone mode, clinicians can view OnBase content, create Unity Forms, and capture photos. When integrated with Epic Canto/Haiku, physicians can complete deficiencies.

Hyland documentation provides incomplete and conflicting instructions for setting up Epic and this app Mobile broker. After contacting support we were able to make this work with Haiku, but only partly. Could not make it work with Canto. When used to provide view access to patient documents, too little detail is provided in the document summary. A provider can only guess which document is behind a link and search by trial and error. The view this app document button is present on every patient record, even those with no this app documents, which wastes the providers time and creates uncertainty. Hyland published an android equivalent of this app but everyone says that it doesn’t work with Epic. We elected to tell providers that this app documents are not available in Haiku and Canto because this application would create so many support issues. Clearly Hyland did not consider the real world needs of providers.
