  • Slow and glitchy

    By joe57889 (Pcmac user)

The old app only played the app and had a schedule. It worked pretty well. This updated version adds news, podcasts, and other information, which is a great idea. But it still has bugs and is slow. The podcasts don’t always load and the radio function is slow as well. I have had this update for a few days and I’m not impressed. Good idea but it needs work. September 2019 update: I think it’s gotten worse. The app stops playing, repeats what was already broadcast on the live stream, and is not reliable.
  • Love the New App

By Stars in my eyes 2 (Pcmac user)

Looking at other reviews, I can agree that from time to time, I too have had issues with it stopping. But think it is my WiFi service. What I do know for certain is that I count on the app for great news and information. This new app provides me terrific immediate links to what I may have missed, whether the app, Texas Standard, or NPR. ❤️❤️❤️
  • Solid and reliable

    By Markied54 (Pcmac user)

I just moved to Austin and thought I would check out the the app app. I read the bad reviews and stuck with straight steaming. Then I heard the station talk about the new and improved app which was redesigned and decided I would give it a try. Glad I did. The app is great. Solid and easy to use. I like it a lot. Now it’s the best way to stream NPR content.
  • You are the worst Burr

    By baldguy8 (Pcmac user)

This app has got to go back and get reworked. There’s a bug between AirPods and live streaming though the app. The constant ad playing for the safe workplace company et al makes the app feel like any other pre-recorded FM station on a commercial format. The app loses its place regularly throughout playback so you get those 30 sec replays constantly. Suggestions I don’t have- I’m using npr1 and the old npr app that has a lot less ads or the website directly but it still seems dumb that the app’s app is so bad
