Download and install Twitter on your Laptop or Desktop computer

If you want to install and use the Twitter app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Twitter in the search bar and press Search. Click on Twitterapplication icon. A window of Twitter on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Twitter for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Wont give me my account

    by uvcitxur gj jg
I made my account in early March. I am 15 years old (born December of 2003) I realized in my bio that I had put 2002 as my birth year. So I went to change it to 2003 and it immediately locked me out of my account saying I didn’t meet the age requirement which is 13 years old. I sent them a picture of my student ID for verification (they ask for your birth certificate, ID and passport which I thought was a bit sketchy at first) which had my grade level and entire name. They emailed me back about an hour later saying it wasn’t proper identification. So I just went ahead and sent them my passport photo with my name and date of birth. A day goes by and they email me back saying that I am under 13 years old and can’t give me back my account. I have redone the report with my passport multiple times to see if I can have them review it again but still no answer back. It’s obvious that a computer is going over these age requirement issues because any other person would realize that a child born in 2003 is over 13 years old. I am very disappointed. I have been told my numerous of friends that twitter was a great app and it was until this happened. I used it to interact with my friends and now I have no way of contacting them.
  • Deletes accounts for no reason

    by skiidw3ll3r
Every single time i interact with someone via commenting back and forth, nothing aggressive or rude ever, like every single time they lock and suspend my account and if you create a new one eventually it just has the same thing happen to it. And they never respond to your tickets if you make one to get it fixed, I don’t understand how people actually use this app. Like if they stopped doing this to people they’d probably have less random profiles. I’ve been deleted 3 times so at this point I’m just over it and will not even waste my time again. It’s like right when I get some followers and follow all my favorite accounts they just suspend my account anyways so what’s the point. Update- I just checked my old account and it’s still suspended (3 weeks later) and I have NO response from the twitter team so I tried to just delete my account and it won’t let me even do that since it’s suspended. It removed all of my followers and all the people I was following from my account as well. It’s like they do this and then they make it so you can’t reach out and you can’t tell anybody or tweet about it because they block you from doing EVERYTHING.
  • Locks me out for no reason

    by HamletES
Twitter locks you out of your account for no reason. It’s very stressful. I’ve used twitter for years and in the past two years I’ve been locked out about over 10 times. I’ve done nothing for this to happen! When I made my account I was 13 (the required age) but it wouldn’t let me put my birth year (2000) so for the past 6 years I had to put 1995. Every now and then I would try to put in my real birth year but it still wouldn’t let me. I tried again today and surprisingly, it let me. Immediately after Twitter locked me out and removed my account from the site. They keep saying I’m under 13 or was younger when I made the account. They also said you have to send in a picture of your ID to get it back. Because of personal reasons, I don’t have any sort of ID. I sent in a picture of my birth certificate, hoping it works. I made a second account to message them but it kept on saying that Twitter Support wasn’t responsive at this moment. After a couple of hours they then locked me out of my new account. This experience made me not want to get on twitter anymore. I got on the app almost everyday. This is very stressful. Please fix this Twitter!
  • Addicting in a Very Bad Way

    by EvaFitts
Twitter isn’t functional because you can’t easily remove followers. Twitter doesn’t recognize that people have different needs over time. Many of us got on expressly to discuss politics. You follow and are followed by thousands of people. Now you want to switch to your real name and focus on people doing a particular workout challenge or use the account for some other, less toxic reason. You either have to delete the account, wait a period of time and start over (losing all your follows) or block every account you don’t want following you anymore, one at a time. Twitter is full of bots supporting the right wing, far left extremists and fake accounts. If you’re there for politics you can’t use your real name because you will be threatened and harassed. One person told me she could find out everything about me and ruin my life. Someone I follow used her real name and a harasser find out the name of the woman’s father’s business and filled yelp with negative reviews. It can at times be a place for “friendship” or learning and even uplifting but it can also be a vile, depressing place.
  • Horrible lagging

    by haagendoss
I’ve been using this app across various devices. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, software fully updated with an updated version of twitter as well. I’ve tried reaching out to twitter support and no response. My issue is that my timeline lags and freezes consistently every 10 seconds or so. The rest of my phone and it’s apps work fine. I can’t scroll, I can’t retweet, I can close the app and open it again only to have the issue still be there. It’s completely unresponsive for 10 seconds or so before the cycle continues. It’s absolutely infuriating. I’ve tried logging out, restarting my phone, deleting the cache on the twitter app, I’ve even uninstalled this app at least twice with no result. It does this when I’m connected to my home WiFi, or on data, or when I’m connected to public and work WiFi. It has nothing to do with my connection. I’ve tried to look up the issue and it seems like there are some people that have this same issue but no solutions are given. Please fix this twitter, I love using this app as a de-stressor
  • Update

    by Student Council Club
Update... so I’m still locked out of my account and it has been 15 days. I never got an update or anything and instead had to scroll through multiple reddit sites just to find a link to submit my ID that they could never send me over email. I’ve submitted my ID multiple times and they said they would update me and guess what again... no updates on progress!!! All they say is they will work on it and give you updates.. but those updates NEVER come!!! I don’t think Twitter is actually working on unlocking these accounts at all because wouldn’t I at least see SOMETHING?? I’m growing so impatient and annoyed with this company. I am 17 years old my god how hard is that to understand!?!? If you need to delete accounts i created when i was 12 go for it but it doesn’t take 15 days to do. Please make the people you pay actually do their jobs because it shifts the whole user’s opinion of Twitter.
  • Best thing in life. Hey Twitter,

    by JJ11st
Hello to everyone at Twitter and god bless every employee. I hope everyone is having a good work week. God bless to your families too. So about Twitter, I have a personal problem that I really need to address to the company. It would be blessing in disguise if I could meet everyone over the company and have a sit down with developers and researchers and the CEO, board members. Everyone who has a say so in the way the app company so we can talk about first social media laws and also content, what’s permissible viewership in what country as far in entertainment because we all live on one planet, social media laws and kids. Depending where you live some people don’t understand different cultures and especially about putting false information in media that would disrupt what is going on in real life, social media laws, and more things but just two Basic talks to begin with. In God’s name we pray Amen 🙏🏽.
  • Twitter followers are infuriated about the new update

    by Celestia22
I can not stress this enough, NO ONE WANTS THAT NEW UPDATE YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. We are fine with Twitter the way it is I don’t know what cry baby celebrity or political figure complained for that update but it is not wanted among the community. It’s already outrageous you’re taking away likes and retweets but now taking away the blocking feature and opening dms up to ANYONE? Ppl are harassed through dms constantly that’s why they have the option to block and now You’re gonna take that away? Completely unnecessary and ridiculously moronic. The community enjoys twitter the way it is and the new update looks like some government controlled futuristic simulation, it doesn’t look like twitter anymore at all. We will all be moving to Snapchat and Instagram now if this new update takes place, at this rate your app will lose everyone or almost anyone and you might as well just shut down like Facebook if you choose to do this. Just take that into consideration.
  • Unfair Usage Policy

    by dodgerdude63
I have been personally restricted (temporarily) from posting on Twitter on several occasions for promoting “hateful dialogue.” Yet, the most racist, hate-filled rhetoric on Twitter is being posted by our President on a daily basis. As a U.S. President, Donald Trump has introduced the most vile, vulgar, racist, false conspiracy laden, lying, hate promoting rhetoric in American history. He is our arrogant national role model for encouraging viscous, hateful, bigotry on Twitter. And, having the largest Twitter following, has the most impactful influence for the promotion of his ugly vulgarity in America. Yet, Twitter will turn a blind eye to Mr. Trump’s vitriolic rhetoric ... while blocking my account on numerous occasions for merely following my President’s example as the nation’s Hater-In-Chief ... (and I have a mere 165 followers). One final point. If Twitter were to enforce an “honesty clause” within their usage policy and actually fact-check allegations and accusations before allowing a comment to post, I dare say that President Trump would censor himself, as would FOX News. It would be reasonable to conclude that the nation would be spared any tweets from Trump and FOX. And America would be far better off if Trump’s Twitter account were suspended indefinitely.
  • Tech support is garbage, email support is garbage

    by brandii_m
made my twitter account almost 10 years ago an was an avid user on that same account. i was using the app and then sat my phone down for about an hour. when i reopened the app they were asking me to log back in to verify my account. Seeing that I haven’t logged out of twitter i was confused as to why they started to ask me this.i’ve had this account for a long time and the email address i signed up with is one that i no longer had access to. because of this i was unable to reset my password. i tried emailing tech support but they gave me some excuse saying that they couldn’t verify the account and that there was no other way that they could do so. they’ve never asked me to do so before and i am very upset with tech support. i would’ve rather talk to an actual person to explain my problem than send an email that they took a long time to respond to. so now im stuck trying to figure out what my old password was because i don’t want to create a new account. its been 2 weeks since this happened and im very disappointed with their service and lack of communication.
