✔ Pros:

- The app makes set-up and gameplay streamlined and easy.

- The sound effects and scenario intro add to the atmosphere and immersion in the game world.

- The app is stable and keeps track of everything well.

☹ Cons:

- Killing monsters feels unrewarding and anticlimactic without death sounds or random loot drops.

- The app needs to be updated to work with the new screen ratio for the iPad Pro 11 inch.

- The lack of sound effects and narration for most of the text is a missed opportunity for a more atmospheric experience.

The app works great. I have no issues with it. It has worked solidly and has great presentation. Love it. The main issue that I have with it now is that it needs to be updated so that it works with the new screen ratio for the iPad Pro 11 inch. Since it has not yet been updated, it has black bars showing on the sides of the app. The the app still works as before but it is ugly and not utilizing the full screen of the iPad Pro 11 inch. Looking forward to the update. When the app works with the new screen size I’ll give the fifth star! Keep up the good work.

I played this with four other people for the first time today. It was really fun and guys and girls alike all enjoyed it. I think it could better immerse players by adding some death sounds for creatures on the app, or having the enemies possibly randomly drop different loot? Currently killing a monster feels unrewarding or anticlimactic. I suppose it seems from my perspective as a player it would be easy to add these although I know it may not be the case. After having played this with my friends copy I did go out and buy my own and intend to add the expansions as well. This is a SERIOUSLY fun game.

The 2nd edition of the Mountains of Madness board game with this app is absolutely stellar. The set-up is a breeze with the app, and the gameplay is streamlined and a ton of fun. The sound effects and reading of the scenario intro. as played by the app are first rate, and add a great deal to the atmosphere and to immersion in the game world. If you are on the fence, I recommend the game highly. I owned the first edition which did not have the app, and which rarely made it to the table because of all the setup and advance work necessary to play the game. The 2nd edition with the app; however, is going to hit the table A LOT.

My friends and I were thrilled with how well the app worked, how stable it was, and how much it kept track of. What disappointed us was the lack of sound effects when, for example, a monster died. The app doesn’t even offer narration for 90% of its text—not even using the iOS built-in voices. Talk about a missed opportunity! There is at least ambient sound, but additional sound effects and narration to provide a more atmospheric experience would be incredibly welcome.
