The P-touch Design&Print app is a free application that can be used with Brother P-touch Label Makers and P-touch Ribbon and Decorative Tape Printers that have Bluetooth technology. The app allows users to design labels, decorative tapes, washi tapes, and satin ribbons from a variety of templates using an Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The app is compatible with P-touch CUBE Label Maker (PTP300BT), P-touch CUBE Plus Label Maker (PTP710BT), and P-touch Embellish ELITE Decorative Ribbon & Tape Printer (PTP715eBT).

Software Features and Description

1. To design and print on satin ribbons, decorative tapes and washi tapes, use the P-touch Embellish ELITE Ribbon and Tape Printer (PTP715eBT).

- Current version of the app software does not allow turning off the tape feed when chain printing

- App closes entirely when attempting to change the label width from .97" to something else, making it impossible to customize a label with the Cube.

Huge Design Flaw - Waste of Time & $$

My biggest gripe with this app has been that you have to search for your device and sync it every single time you want to use it! Every single other device and app I have, it’s a one time sync, and it’s automatically remembered... not with this! (HUGE DESIGN FLAW!) So, if you think this would be handy for a quick label, think again... Such a pain to go through all of the steps, it’s hardly worth it... Knowing that, and having waited until I have several labels to do at once, now my bigger gripe is that I CAN’T ACCESS SAVED LABELS TO EITHER EDIT OR PRINT. No matter how many times I tap on one of my saved labels, I can no longer access it. It used to annoy me when I’d have to tap on a label a half dozen times in order to access it, but now I can’t access any at all! This happens on both my iPhone and my iPad, so it is clearly an issue with the app.... so incredibly frustrating and time consuming. If you’re considering purchasing the the app P-Touch Smartphone Dedicated Bluetooth Label Maker, do yourself a favor and just flush a $50 bill down the toilet and avoid the aggravation.
So disappointed!!!

I purchased the P Touch Cube earlier today and was so eager to begin labeling and getting things organized in my kitchen. I’ve been using the program for approximately 45 minutes and have already discovered two functions that don’t work properly that are demonstrated on the online tutorial. The current version of the app software does not allow you to turn off the tape feed when chain printing as is indicated in the tutorial this means a LOT of tape is being wasted. Secondly, when I attempt to create my own label the app closes entirely when I attempt to change the label width from .97” (which the Cube can’t print) to something else. This means that you can not customize a label with the Cube since it can’t print that width. It seems to me that since the app knows that I am using a Cube it shouldn’t offer the option to create a custom label if that’s a limitation of the label maker. Because this app is so bad, I have no other choice than to return the Cube, I am so disappointed.
Pretty cool but does not work on iPad

Works pretty well and has some nice features but it does not work on an iPad in any way that matters to me. The point was that I could use my iPad keyboard but as it does not even show horizontal or even vertical full screen this makes it impossible. The app should not claim to be an iPad app if it does not really work that way. If it just said iPhone only then I would have been more happy. They should make the p-touch be able to connect with a Mac, iPad and iPhone. Seems like it would not be too hard to set up that kind of application. Considering the really high price of $99 for this label maker I am a bit disappointed with the product. Improvement over the ancient label makers but should be better with todays technology.
Won’t work with external keyboard

Will work in landscape on an iPad once you get past the home screen. Be warned, if you have an external keyboard the app won’t work, you need to disconnect the keyboard to be able to use. Would get a higher ranking if this was fixed. the app that is a big miss on your part.
