1. The tool is organised as a checklist, where students are able to learn about, gain confidence in and tick off each of the criteria needed to attain a standard of writing that will be accepted within University.

2. The Student Academic Literacy Tool (SALT) has been constructed to aid students in improving the standard of their academic writing at University.

3. SALT was one of the Summer Of Student Innovation winners, a Jisc programme developed with our strategic partners across higher education, further education and skills.

4. We recognise that within University, there are a number of students with a range of abilities and we hope to have covered as many of these abilities as possible.

Install SALT - Student Academic Literacy Tool app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using SALT on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "SALT"
The search will reveal the SALT - Student Academic Literacy Tool app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once SALT is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including SALT.
Now enjoy SALT on PC.
