  • Add new speaker - BROKEN COMPLETELY on iOS

    By Fredke007 (Pcmac user)

As seems typical of Samsung, anything of important detail or critical importance to their users, just doesn’t work at all on iOS. Say one of your the app R3 speakers isn’t showing up correctly in this app. You need to reset the speaker and add it as a new speaker to get it to be part of the surround’s left or right rear set behind your Samsung sound bar. Well if your Mobile device happens to be the bastard child one from ... sush .. Apple, you my friend have chosen unwisely. Try and try and try as instructed to join the SAMSUNG wifi on the WiFi setup, then return to this app, and ... ... nothing. The app simply is braindead. Kind of like the decision makers at SAMSUNG, who believe that a great product is only worth launching, not worth maintaining and supporting, especially on that very odd Apple operating system. To ANY iOS user considering getting anything of SAMSUNG accessory that may need to be run or configured by your phone - just don’t do it. SAMSUNG really seriously doesn’t care at all IF it works, and obviously never tests and maintains any of their products after the splash of initial release. Trust me. I know.
  • Not very good at all

    By SJA77707 (Pcmac user)

Usually don’t write reviews. Something has to be really good or bad to get me to spend any of my time writing. This app and speakers are conceptually a great alternative to more expensive solutions. You get what u pay for holds true in this case. In the Apple environment it does not function very well. Will not play Apple music. Yes it is not advertised to have that functionality. You have to download songs to your iPhone music app for the music to play. Not a good setup if you keep your music in the cloud rather than keeping all those files on your device. Setting up wifi, bluetooth is not seamless and takes quite a bit of fiddling, time to get to work. Once set up the speakers do produce good sound and offer decent control at each speaker. Dropped connections are a problem. Listening to three of them now via wifi. Within 20 ft of my router and they just dropped their connection as is common with these. Yes I am running the latest version of the app, ios and firmware on the speakers. Not worth my time anymore.
  • Incredible potential, Very poor functionality

    By ahommel (Pcmac user)

I never write reviews but I am fed up with this app. Normally I would just get a different app that performs the same function, but Samsung has me backed into a proprietary corner. If the bugs were worked out it would be incredibly convenient and functional, but it only works correctly 15%-20% of the time. I even provided feedback with my problems via the app and have not heard a word from anyone. I refuse to spend hours on the phone trying to troubleshoot something I paid a lot of money for. The speakers and sound bar actually sound nice, on the off chance you get to hear something coming from them. Do not depend on this app to provide functionality for your Samsung speakers. If you buy the speakers and plug them in via hardware then they might work for you. Otherwise, put your money towards something that works.
  • This is a piece of garbage

    By WildWildWill (Pcmac user)

I normally don’t write reviews but I want to get this off my chest. I own a 2018 Samsung smart tv and a MS 650 sound bar with the subwoofer and rear surround kit added. The touted capabilities of me being able to control the soundbar with Alexa are almost nonexistent. I can turn off the tv (not on) and turn on and off the sound bar. All other controls that are in the manual don’t work and my Echo says “device does not support that” whenever I attempt to use commands listed in the user manual. This MultiRoom app in particular is terrible with all of the other sources besides my phone not showing up on the app( it initially supported other sources but no longer. I regret buying into the Samsung device ecosystem.
