Dear Learner, Welcome to BSL Level two, part two. If you are new to BSL at this level, it is recommended that you first go through Level two, part one. This will help you to understand how to use the BSL features well. However, this is just a recommendation, as part one and two can be used independently of each other, or in which ever order you prefer. It may be that you need to brush up on areas that are contained within this app. This app presents some Level two vocabulary under the topic heading "Shopping and Spending". Each vocabulary section is followed by a short story using some of the newly introduced vocabulary. At the end of the section there is a sample conversation, just like the one in the awarding body's assessment: currently called unit 203. The learning is continued by way of three, 3-5 minute presentations, just like the one students are required to do for the awarding body's assessment: currently unit 202. There is one presentation under each topic heading "Eating and Drinking", "Shopping and Spending" and "Holidays and Travel". Next are three stories with questions, presented like the awarding body's assessment: currently unit 201. Each story is played through in full, and then replayed in four sections, with three multi-choice questions after each section. You are then shown the answers, and see a full English transcript. At the end of the app there are three fingerspelling tests, and a short story. This app has fully subtitled replays throughout. It is recommended you make good use of your pause button to make notes, scroll back and replay, to avoid watching subtitled sections until you are ready, and to practice using the signs yourself.
