3. Prudent decisions and careful planning make for a long reign but unforeseen motivations, surprise events, and poor luck can take down even the most entrenched monarch.

4. Sit on the throne as a benevolent (or malevolent) medieval monarch of the modern age and swipe your royal fingers either left or right to impose your will upon the kingdom.

5. Extend your reign as long as possible, forge alliances, make enemies, and find new ways to die as your dynasty marches along through the ages.

6. Some events will span on centuries, with an intrigue involving burning witches, scientific enlightenment, wicked politics and, maybe, the Devil himself.

Boring and overrated

I was pretty excited for this game, however it is becomes very repetitive very quickly. By the time you are halfway through the first play through, you would already have memorized all the events. You cannot pick the choices that match your actual opinions or that you think are interesting - you will be killed. Instead, the game requires that you pick the choices that balance out your stats so you don't die. This makes the game extremely tedious. The story is so insignificant it's pathetic, and progress toward the different, unsatisfying endings is slow and very, very vague. I don't know why this game is so highly rated. I tried so hard to like it, I really did. I do not recommend it.
