It's So-So

The software itself seems like it is lacking some structure. I still need to use other programs to fill in the gaps of this sofware. It also is a bit buggy. Several of the commands such as find or jump don't always work. I often need to restart the software or even sometimes restart my computer just to use a simple command. For what I had to pay to get this, I will continue to use it hopeing that it will get better. But so far it just feels like a different version of Word or Pages.

Love Storyist!

I've been a user for several years now and love the simplistic nature of the program. No heavy-duty training is needed, unlike their major competitors. The upgrades have been meaningful, but not overwhelming. The few times I've needed their support, I've found it to be both personalized and super quick! If you're looking for a writing program that's as perfect for a 'pantser' as it is a 'plotter,' this is the program for you!

Theme Editing is a Disaster

The default dark mode is so foolishly backwards. It makes the page black, and the background dark grey. No dark mode in history functions that way—the colors very, very obviously need to be reversed in order for dark mode to be even remotely usable. However—the theme editor is completely broken. There is no way to override the settings without throwing off the text color. Every theme customization results in either white text on a white background or dark text on a dark background, depending on whether dark mode is enabled. It is simply impossible to achieve the very simple thing that needs to be done in order to begin writing with this program. Please fix this! I upgraded from 3 to 4 specifically for the purpose of night mode. But this is so poorly thought out and implemented on such a rudimentary level that I feel like a total fool for buying it. It's a simple fix away from being great, but that fix better come soon...

Solid upgrade, good pricing

A solid review of a great piece of software. Great features and great integration with iOS app. Even better, no subscription, and a very reasonable upgrade price make it a must get. Highly recommended.
