If you want to install and use the Polarr Photo Editor app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Polarr Photo Editor for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Polarr Photo Editor for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Polarr Photo Editor in the search bar and press Search. Click on Polarr Photo Editor application icon. A window of Polarr Photo Editor on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Polarr Photo Editor icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Polarr Photo Editor for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Polarr Photo Editor for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Used to love, but the new update messed everything up.

I’ve been using Polarr since late 2016, and for the most part it’s been pretty great, with a few bugs in between and issues with the quality, but the problems were fixed quite quickly. I purchased Polarr Pro’s selective adjustments in around 2017 and it worked fine, but recently with the new Polarr SO many new issues have risen. The first time I updated it to the new Polarr, it would not let me save any of my selective adjustments. Gradient, color masks, none of them would save. Sometimes it would crash, other times it wouldn’t even save as the filter I had filtered it as, but instead another filter I had previously made?? Recently, a few issues have been fixed but new problems have started. Everything including gradient and radial all work with my purchases but when I add the color scale to a color mask, it doesn’t save. The color mask is still there, but the actual color scale is zero. Please fix these issues, or bring back the old Polarr and work on the new one on the side. So many new issues that me and quite a few of my friends who have been using it for a long time are giving up on it.
  • Great results but a few bugs

For the actually editing, I would give this 5 stars. I also appreciate their useful tutorials and the many thoughtful touches that went into the app design (although the UI is rather confusing at first, once you figure out the guiding organization, it makes sense). The cloning/healing feature is the only one I really did not like in terms of how it's implemented. Way too fidgety; no apparent way to deal with larger areas. Other apps do a much better job. The two-hour trial of the pro version has almost persuaded me to scrounge up the $20, though it also introduced some concerns. Using more than one shape caused stability problems. It seems you can't use different colors for added shapes. Liquify didn't perform as well as I hoped, either. All in all, though, the actual photo-editing results were superior to what I've been able to achieve in the numerous other apps I've tried.

I am a bit of a photo editing app junkie, and had originally downloaded this app amid several others. I got so caught up in the other apps I didn’t spend much time and took it off my device. I noticed it on my cloud the other day, downloaded it and found exactly what I was looking for. Not only does it have the color modifying tools I was looking for (on most apps it is a paid feature) the filters are wonderful. I found the exact filter I was looking for to use on my Instagram, but I almost went with one of the filters in the Japanese photo set. It took a bit to figure out the navigation (and how to add tools to your tool bar) but I am so glad I took the time. I am not devoted to a single app, but this is now become one of my top three editors.

Polar photo editing app is awesome! Without even feting into the paid version you get a ton of amazing options, filters, effects and tools! Believe me , these are not limited to the Instagram or Facebook or editing photoshop copycats! Polar is professional grade in quality, user interface, appearance and detail. Appreciated the prompts and helper which you can hide if you don’t need or dislike . I found It tremendously helpful. It’s not the easiest app, so I wouldn’t necessarily suggest it to someone not accustomed to some version of photo shop or another editing apps, but with with the helper option you can figure it out and deliver pro -level edited photographs. I am probably going to bite the bullet and purchase the pro version . It’s that good!

Used to love this App, I paid for the subscription monthly, however since getting the new iPhone XS Max, the app does not let me access my settings/account and it does not let me use my pro account, despite it noting that I have a membership.
  • App Update Is Disfunctional

The recent update makes my app crash upon opening it. The second time I open it, it works, but the app refuses to recognize a face correctly and also rotates my images without me having used the crop/rotate tool. Too frustrating to use now.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this thing makes me giddy with all of its amazing features! I will never need any other app, this one has got it all in one place with every small tweak you can imagine, even choosing the color pallet of the program itself! From warping faces, creating color masks, fringing, and a host of adjustments most apps don’t usually give you, the fact that all of this is free is beyond my wildest dreams! Wow!
  • Update!

Still has annoying bugs (photos refusing to load after saving and watermark not showing up in layers which I use because the actual watermark feature isn’t good) but it has slightly improved! However the fringing/border feature is useless to me. Would instead love the ability to edit in curves example: brush/erase tool, to duplicate layers! Would save quite a bit of time and to create/save our own gradients permanently. Also could use a modified option in batch export Other notes: HSL works before editing but not after I’m using 20gb of 64gb storage . Batch save doesn’t work properly
