  • App is so so

It’s a pretty basic app. But the messages that Zio sends can’t be read because they disappear when you click on them. Surely this corporation must be aware that they have a glitch happening with messaging. Why don’t they fix it? My other issue is that they don’t provide enough characters to adequately describe a symptom. This is the patient’s opportunity to convey important information to the doctor that could be helpful in making an accurate diagnosis. So why limit it to 75 characters? I mean really, even Trump gets 140 characters for his ridiculous Tweets. Why do we only get half that for something important like our hearts?
  • Less than zero

First 20 hours were a nightmare. Surprised that grief with the app didn’t cause a cardiac event in itself (I’m very tech-savvy). Had to call the manufacture five times, and my cardio provider twice. Thank you, Xanax. Very nice customer service people! But two out of three had telephone headsets that didn’t work - and they were aware of it! 90% frustrating static and unintelligible, so I had to keep calling back. Very poor app development for such a vital healthcare tool. Registering the app is nearly impossible! Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn’t help. One registration error and you’re locked out for another day. Once you remove the patch, all your info will go to the company (so complaints could be redacted) not your doctor, so there’s one more weak link in the chain. Also, any cardiac events are stored on a chip in the device, as opposed to transmitted wirelessly. Therefore, they will only find out about your heart attack when they analyze the data on the device around the time of your funeral. Yes, friendlier hardware than the Holter monitor, but falls far short in medical value. With all the one-star reviews, it’s amazing that the average number of stars shown is 2.8 out of 5!
  • My Zio XT app is okay.

    By b_squrrd (Pcmac user)

I had no trouble registering my device via the app. I do wish the device numbers that are required to register it were easier to find as opposed to one sticker on the box (assuming you kept the box). Also, I received a few messages through the app’s message center for reminders and such, but if I wanted to read a message in full, you have to tap “READ MORE” and not on the message itself. By tapping the message itself, you unknowingly delete the message and have no way to recover it. I hope they weren’t important! I think I read two of the several I received because of this flaw. In my opinion, you should either have to swipe the message to delete it or a ‘hold and select’ option to delete the message. Logging in my symptoms was easy. Being able to edit any logs was simple, too. To my knowledge, this monitor is used to detect any irregular heart beats, not necessarily if you have a heart attack. I believe it did the job for what I needed the two weeks that I had to wear it. My one big complaint is the message center, other than that, it’s a decent app.
  • Convenient app, easy to record

    By RuddyInsGirls (Pcmac user)

I have had to wear several different monitors over the past few years. When I was told I need to wear another device I was less than thrilled. I have always disliked having to have wires and the irritation of the sticky adhesive pads. With this Zio device I was pleased, no wires! It’s easily concealed. Having to only press the bottom to alert to symptoms. I found this app very easy to use. It’s made it very convenient to keep a log of exact times, activities, and symptoms that occurred. In my experience I found the app more accurate and definitely more convenient than using the log book.
