★ ★ ★ Pro HDR X Overview

What is Pro HDR X? Pro HDR X is a complete overhaul of Pro HDR, the world's most popular HDR camera app. It captures true HDR images automatically and instantly, with dramatically better results than ever before. The app dynamically analyzes the scene in real-time and provides up to 10 additional stops of dynamic range. Pro HDR X uses three separate full-resolution exposures to generate HDR, giving maximum dynamic range with minimal artifacts and noise. The app also features a modern UI, advanced photo library support, state-of-the-art image registration and blending, and live-updating sliders to perfect HDR.

Software Features and Description

1. • Advanced photo library support, from editing single images to aligning and merging HDRs from two or three bracketed images.

2. For the first time, Pro HDR X now uses *three* separate full-resolution exposures to generate your HDR, giving you maximum dynamic range with minimal artifacts and noise.

3. We even let you import giant DSLR images from your photo library (up to 24 megapixels) so you can create professional HDRs on the go.

4. Not only does Pro HDR X feature a massive leap in image quality and speed, we’ve totally redesigned the UI, bringing a modern look and feel to the app.

5. We precisely correct for translation and rotation between images, giving you the sharpest possible images.

6. Going way beyond the limited HDR built into iOS, Pro HDR X dynamically analyzes the scene in realtime and provides up to 10 additional stops of dynamic range.

7. A massive upgrade, Pro HDR X captures true HDR images automatically and instantly, with dramatically better results than ever before.

8. And of course, our images are saved at full resolution.

9. We’ve hand-crafted the interface to perfectly suit each device’s native size and resolution, from 3.5" to 5.5" iPhones.

10. And we haven’t forgotten iPads, which also feature brand new interfaces perfectly suited to their larger screens.

11. In 2009, we created Pro HDR, the first full-resolution mobile HDR app ever released.

  • Not nearly as good as the original

    By JayDe137 (Pcmac user)

I’ve been using the app HDR since it came out in 2009, and absolutely loved it. Hands down the best picture taking app on the market. So I was extremely disappointed when I updated my iOS and learned it was no longer supported. I purchased this one and have been disappointed with all of it. The picture quality is sub par compared to what I would get with the original. I don’t like the interface or the varying options. I’ve only used it 3 or 4 times since buying it and always remember why I don’t After I do.
  • Yay! Thanks for updating this 💕😎✌🏻

    By DudemanLA (Pcmac user)

This app is great especially when you have a bright background or a dark foreground or vice versa. So happy this app is still alive 😊 It takes 3 photos super fast. Also it allows you to pick three points if you choose to do it manually but you can leave it on auto if you like. Works great I put it in manual mode so I can drag the blue squares to the foreground and one to the sky so I get a perfect exposure and then I can drag the slider's afterwards. You can get some really amazing photos with this app.
  • Old version worked better

    By Buff Gnarls (Pcmac user)

The previous version (before it was called X) worked noticeably better. It seems with the update they just use the iPhone’s built in HDR algorithm to take “instant” HDR’s - as opposed to before when I had to wait for it take 2 exposures and then combine them. The previous method yielded far better results. On top of that, when photos are exported to photo roll they appear about 2 stops darker then they do when I’m editing them in the app, definitely some bug that hasn’t been addressed. It’s unfortunate because I used to love this app and get amazing pictures, but hardly use the new version. Disappointing.
  • Nothing like the old one

    By Tony LiVig (Pcmac user)

The old app was the best HDR software I have ever used. Better than several of the hundred dollar plugins I use with photoshop and programs I have on my desktop. No app even competes with it. It took 2 different photos, one after the next for a true HDR shot. I had go upgrade and pay for this updated app to make it work with ios 11. This app takes only one photo and the results are terrible. What a shame. Why did you developers take what was perhaps the single greatest photo app ever invented and wreck it? I am likely going to revert my phone back to the old ios, (which will make a lot of my other apps not work) just to be able to use the old version that worked.
