★ ★ ★ Pixave Overview

What is Pixave?

Pixave is an image organizer app that helps users store and organize their images in a convenient and user-friendly workspace. It supports various image formats, including GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and more. The app also offers automation features, easy tagging, enhanced web capture, and exciting export options.

Software Features and Description

1. Pixave supports common image formats such as GIF, JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG, TIFF, ICNS, AI, PSD, EPS (included PDF info only), PDF, TGA, SVG, BMP, ICO, Camera RAW, HEIC, HEIF, as well as document formats from Mac Graphic Killer applications such as *Affinity Designer, *Affinity Photo, *Pixelmator, *Pixelmator Pro, *Sketch, *Audodesk Graphic, *Acorn document.

2. To import, images no longer need to be dragged, images no longer need to be clicked to apply tags, and image types no longer need to be separately categorized.

3. Just place your desired files into the designated folder and Pixave will automatically import the selected media and automatically apply selected tags.

4. Beware to not become overwhelmed by the incredible new tagging interface – the ability to apply numerous tags simultaneously to numerous images.

5. During import, not only are the keywords included in the image identified and automatically added to the tag, but tags added by the user can also be very easily applied.

6. Alongside the basic function of exporting according to image type, you can also adjust the image size in set increments, customize the file naming pattern and apply Watermarks.

7. The updated version includes the new Light/Dark user interface with the Collection now supporting auto-import, while the Smart Collection and System Collection has become more powerful and refined, providing this new version with an even more convenient and user-friendly workspace.

8. Pixave’s innovative and useful workspace lays the groundwork for you to draw inspiration, unhindered, from your images - because your inspirations are precious and beautiful.

9. Tags you have inserted and managed are now also included within the image during export.

10. And now, even more formats are supported: TrueType® Font, OpenType® Font, MOV, M4V, MP4, MPO, DAE for 3D Objects, OBJ files, *Apple Pages, *Numbers, *Keynote, *iBook Author, *MS Word, *Excel, *PowerPoint.

11. Many tags can be applied immediately to a number of images, and can be searched for along with its tag.

  • Ember replacement?

    By WokaWokaWoka (Pcmac user)

I bought this app to replace Embr, which is no longer supported by Real Mac Software. For webpage capture, this app is good. But I contacted supported during the trial period, hoping to get some answers to a few questions, but this app support never responded! The trial ran out, and I decided to buy the app, but these are still my reservations: 1) It's *extremely* fidgety to set the width of a webpage before capturing it and is a process of trial-and-error. A numeric entry box and/or pop-up with defaults would be great. 2) Since a lot of folks are coming from Ember, it sure would be nice if this app had an Embr import feature! :)
  • Powerful, but many flaws

    By sugarfreejones2000 (Pcmac user)

I purchased this to replace Ember, which is no longer supported. The app has all the features you would expect, but has some majorly irritating behaviors: 1) Right out of the box it was confusing how to *import* images - I had to create a collection to put them in (as opposed to just dragging and dropping images on the app). 2) Showing search results in a side panel is terrible - you see unuseful thumbnails in the panel to alongside all the thumbnails in your current collection. 3) The Chrome extension does not work. At all. 4) When you want to snap a webpage, it opens a completely new window - it’s not at all clear how to get back to your image library (it’s a tiiiiny arrow that’s easily missed). 5) There’s no option to capture the last screenshot area used (I need to do this all the time) Don’t get me wrong - the app’s performace is great, and there a lot of features. Probably too many, which is the issue. The app feels more like a developer’s tool than a designer’s tool. The core tasks of importing, searching and snapping screenshots are just not that great. I would go back to Ember in a heartbeat, but with it’s future so uncertain it is time to move on. Seems like the field is still wide open for a great Ember replacement.
  • Mostly great, with two major problems

    By Chembunny (Pcmac user)

this app is so great most of the time that the two consistent issues I’ve come across since its first release are a shocking (unwelcome) surprise. These issues can be significant deal-breakers, depending on your usage of this application: 1. Focus-stealing: - You will NOT be able to use any other application or do anything else whilst you are importing files. - If you attempt to go to another application or go to a different screen, this app will forcefully set your screen back to its application at the start of each new import. - You cannot turn off this behaviour. 2. Inconsistent scrolling and unhelpful location changes: - When you scroll through a collection and perhaps click on an image, the application will snap the screen to place that image at the bottom of the window immediately. - If you switch to another application and come back to this app, you will unhelpfully be snapped to the top, exact middle, or bottom of the collection, depending on the preference set, regardless of the selected image location in the collection. - If you select multiple items to tag, after pressing enter you will be once again snapped to the top, middle, or bottom of the collection irrespective of the selected image locations. - If you scroll through a collection, sometimes it will fly hundreds of images past with a single scroll movement; other times it will glacially move just a tiny bit, not even one entire row of images with the same scrolling movement. - You may indadvertently never be able to see certain images until you close/re-open this app as the inconsistent scrolling will “hide” rows of images until it is “reset”. If you need to maintain the focus of your screen on other application when importing files or have more than a handful of images in any collection that you need to locate/compare/tag/etc. these issues may impact you significantly. If neither of these items affect you, then this app is lovely.
  • Wonderful Application!

    By TimBsTechTalk (Pcmac user)

this app has motivated me to get more organized! I love how you can organize images and files by type (screen, phone tablet, web, etc, web, icon, interface, etc), using keywords and colors to designate and define your content. The export to epub option is a nice bonus. I’m updating my review because I’m exciting that this app is now available for the iPad (and coming for the iPhone very soon). It syncs with iCloud Drive which is very convenient!
