  • Not stable

    By trollboy665 (Pcmac user)

I’ve had issues with the functionality dropping off and on. I would *not* call this a stable product. For the free version that’s to be expected and is not a big deal. I’m routinely having to uncheck and recheck the extension option. While I appreciate it wanting to behave like TortoiseSVN.. it most certainly does not meet it in terms of stability.
  • Extremely high resource usage, CPU and Memory, kill its use

    By AddictArts (Pcmac user)

The application has some nice features and use if you ignore the CPU and Memory high usage. It uses Gigabytes of memory for a cache process. When I enable it, this usage is higher than anyother application I use. Higher than Google Chrome with 30 tabs open, higher than Unreal Engine 4 Editor. It really is a dissapointment and I like using the context menu. I don’t care about the colored finder items and wish there was an option to keep the context menu, but loose the colored icon overlays. I hope this gets a fix, the resource usage is way out of control. It needs to be tested against big git repositories. I can’t recommend it, I want to, but it is not usable. This is my experience on Yosemite.
  • Version 1.4.1

    By Sia_NYC (Pcmac user)

The new update causes the this app take a lot of CPU and memory resources. The previous version was working fine. Now it useless app. Please fix it.
  • Getting better all the time

    By mattrabe (Pcmac user)

This is the best alternative to TortoiseGit (for Windows) that I have found. Integrates directly into Finder, so that right-clicking a local copy of a repository gives you access to basic Git functions. A lite GUI and integration with your favorite diffing software make this a very valuable tool for developers that use git on a daily basis. The devs continue to make improvements (thanks!) that make the worflow smoother. This most recent version includes several enhancements and is mostly bug-free. CPU/memory issues from a couple versions back were completely resolved, I have not seen them recur. I do experience an occassional bug where my system appears to “forget” that directories are working copies, and I no longer get the this app options in the right-click menus. Closing Finder, Force-Quitting this app, starting this app again, and then starting Finder again fixes this sometimes. I use TotalFinder, which may or may not be related.
