I was a user of Shoebox which recently shut down. I found this app and really wanted to love it as much as I did Shoebox. However I have found two major issues with it. 1 - there’s no video backup in the free version (I never paid for Shoebox and was able to store a certain amount of video free on that app) and 2 - it crashes CONSTANTLY on my iPhone XS, like every single time I open the app and try to do something, even just viewing stored photos. I haven’t found this issue with the iPad version but it’s extremely frustrating that it does it each and every time I open it on my phone. I have also had to reopen the app after it crashes in order to delete photos that I had already removed and seen confirmation that they had indeed been removed. So this app is good for storing photos but so far the actual app hasn’t been that great. UPDATE: I received an email from customer service after I wrote the above review. However when I tried to respond to it, it was kicked back to me with a message that the response was undeliverable to the address. Not sure what’s going on with this app/developer but I’m still experiencing crashing every time I open it. Not much point to a photo backup app that doesn’t let you access your stored photos. Researching other apps and going to switch once I find one I think I’ll like.

I have been using this app since 2017 and it continues to make me believe it's not worth the money you'll pay $9.99/month or $99/year... either way you are paying around $100 yearly 🤦‍♀️ The throwback reminders is a neat concept but the flipbooks they make are so annoying. The app continues to crash if I go too far back into my timeline or when I try to resave/download a photo back to my camera roll. A lot of my saved videos don't even play anymore. The worst part is I can't even back up all of my saved photos or videos on the app the “Export all photos and videos” option in my settings never works! I honestly feel like snap chat is a better alternative the only downside is everything you wanna save has to be taken on the snap chat camera... but at least it doesn’t crash and the videos play. I have 3 years worth of photos and videos stuck in this app and I cant get them back or transfer them anywhere els 💔 In the end it does save your photos/videos and deletes them off your phone to make space but for $119 a year I want this app to NOT CRASH and let me backup and download all of my photos and videos all at once without having to go one by one..

I have an iPhone so my iCloud never has room for more pictures and I’m not about to pay for more storage just so it fills up again and have to buy more storage. Finding this app was such a amazing relief I honestly wish I would’ve found this sooner because all the baby pictures I had of my son got lost in a flash drive when we moved! It wasn’t until I stumbled upon this app and tried it out and loved it! 4 1/2 years later and I have no complaints. There are times that there are little issues like slow loading but it’s minor tweaks that don’t really worry me. As long as my pictures are saved I’m happy!

There is a lot of potential with this app, but the functionality of it currently is weak. The tagging function is quite limited, but a good idea. It will select some faces to tag, but the vast majority of faces are not tagged. There is no option to ask to tag a face in a photo. Other programs can do this much better. This sounds like it is a new feature when I downloaded the app, so hopefully it will be improved. It is surprising there is not an easy option to download a photo to one’s phone. When creating albums, I’m surprised you can search photos to add in different ways. If you have many photos, it can take a long time compared to other apps to upload. I received an email requesting feedback. The email address does not allow incoming emails. I really hope they are working to add features to this app to make it more user friendly and have better functionality. It has great potential. I really appreciate the Flickr and other app connections. I like the memories. My family and I enjoy this. But it is not with the subscription price without better functionality. These should be easy to add. There are so many other apps that cost less with many of these features. They need to improve features or this app is just not going to be able to compete.
