Install Elgato Smart Key app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:

- Install the emulator:

- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Elgato Smart Key"
- The search will reveal the Elgato Smart Key app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Elgato Smart Key is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Elgato Smart Key.

- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Elgato Smart Key,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Elgato Smart Key" » then Click "Install".
- Elgato Smart Key will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Awesome in every way!

I originally ordered a stickr trackr (competing brand) to attach to an expensive flash drive. The app didn't work at all and not only did I have all kinds of phone problems when it was installed, I completely lost the flash drive with trackr attached with no hope of recovery.
Then I ordered an this app to attach to a new drive and it has performed flawlessly! Not only has it already helped me find the flash drive using the map and audible alarm, but it also makes my Pebble Smartwatch buzz when I leave it behind (make sure the app is enabled for Notification Center to make this work). I couldn't be happier!

Disappointed

My iPhone sends frequent connect/disconnect notification alerts when the device is only a few inches away. Sometimes I receive 20 alerts in a single day. the app tech support wrote, "When the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were released, there were reports of Bluetooth issues (not just the app devices).” I don’t accept that because I use three other Bluetooth products without any issues. I have ios 8.1.3 installed. The ‘Find’ feature works reliably so it appears the iPhone and the Smart Key are not losing the connection.

Safe zones don't work

This last update is terrible. Safe zones don't work. Not a big deal? Hardly. If you leave your device to far away you be awakened of and on at night when it connects and disconnects. I constantly have alerts when at my safe zones that in leaving behind. Annoying as it can be. Please fix!

works well - just not loud enough

Works well. My only complaints are that the sounds on the iOS device are not loud enough even with the volume all the way up on the iOS device. Perhaps the sounds could be recorded/created at a higher volume as the iOS device is definitely capable of playing sounds/music louder. I wish the sound on the smart key was a little louder too, but I realize that probably can’t be fixed without changing the hardware.
