  • Really missing the Calendar app integration features of Delicious Library 2

By Parker J. Williams (Pcmac user)

I know this gets brought up from time to time, but I'm in the camp that really misses the feature that automatically created events in the macOS Caledar application, whenever an item was lent to someone in the app Library 2. I honestly used this feature regularly to help keep track of my public library loans, attributing the ownership of an item in the app Library to said public library, and then essentially "loaning" it to myself in the app Library, so I could then easily look at the Caendar application on my Mac or iPhone, and see when my public library items were due. Nowadays I pretty much don't even bother opening this app, unless it's to catalogue a new purchase—but even then I forget to do so entirely, as much as I used to when I used the app Library 2 to also track my public library loans. Is there any way for this feature to be brought back in a future release? I see there's a "Remind Me" feature for loaned items in this app, but the fact that all it does is auto generate an email to send to myself is massively unintuitive and inconvenient, especially when I have multiple items I want to be reminded of regularly; I am not going to just fill up my own email inbox with a bunch of superfluous reminder messages.
  • I love this app.

    By zuzu7 (Pcmac user)

I have used this app since it first came out. Throughout the years we have moved across country and back again (thank you Uncle Sam), and each time we unpacked the many boxes of books and DVDs, DL has been there to help reorient and reintegrate our extensive library into its new home. It’s nice knowing that I have an approximate value of items should a box go missing or get damaged. I also store my books by publisher on shelves, and sometimes the movers will pack boxes ways that boggle the mind. Calling up my DL library and sorting by publisher as I shelve my books gives me a great idea of what books might still be outstanding and how much room I’ll need to save on the shelf before opening a new box. It just makes *everything* easier. I’ve tried other apps just for fun as well as other online book cataloging sites and nothing compares. This is by far the easiest catologuing program I’ve used and I hope more improvements are in the development pipeline. Thanks, Wil Shipley.
  • One of the best sorting and listing applications.

    By marsbarrow (Pcmac user)

the app library does so many things right. It’s perfect for organizing all types of media into an assortment of different virtual shelves. Each item can have full box art or book cover art, which is visually pleasing. The amount of information assignable to each item is really handy for those that are curious about their libraries. the app Library’s ability to search for different content works well and is easy to import. There’s also an export function for updated libraries so you can see your content in different list formats. The only drawback to the app Library that I’ve found is that there’s no way to sync your library automatically to an interent enabled account in case your computer data is lost or refreshed. Otherwise it’s a wonderful app that does exactly as advertised and is highly recommended to anyone that wants to keep track of their media.
  • Excellent program with one caveat

    By mrblurge (Pcmac user)

Zero complaints aout this program’s ability of do everything it advertises. When it comes to cataloging large libraries, the level of information it provides and the ease of facility scanning is impressive. That said, one drawback for me personally is the inability to store all this on a cloud platform where I can access everything across devices and have the comfort of knowing all the work I put into documenting my large library is in one secure place, in case my office computer crashes for some reason. That is the only reason this isn’t a five star program for me.
