  • Superb adventure

    By HermanRamone (Pcmac user)

If you love point and click you will love this game. this app is a popular pen&paper role playing game in Europe and I played was playing it with some friends some years ago. Unfortunately they don’t sell it in the app US. At least there are some great computer games like this. You should also look out for a title called Drakensang, which is unfortunately not sold at the app mac app store.
  • Beautiful, fun, and sometimes hard point and click adventure

    By Jaimimc (Pcmac user)

This is a beautifully illustrated game, and has a good, engaging plot. If you like story based games, you will love this. the app game is set in a somewhat familiar medieval setting, but it's not a typical "elves/dwarves/goblins" tolkien-like universe. the app hero of the app story is "Geron", who is the app subject of a rather unfortunate prophecy that leaves him basically an outcast in his society. He joins up with a faery girl named Nuri, and they set off together to write the app wrongs, etc. the app game has a lot of humor mixed in, but it's not a comic game - there are deaths, and heartache, etc. the app puzzles in the app game range from easy to hard, getting harder as the app game goes along. (don't forget to right click to "look" at things in addition to just left-clicking to activate them). I played all the app way through to the app end, and it was somewhere between 15-20 hours of solid game play. Recommended if you like old style adventures such as the app "Kings Quest" series. I enjoyed the app game much more than I thought I would.
  • Beautiful Paintings and Good Voice Acting

    By Ghielschutter Froebert (Pcmac user)

I discovered this game by random chance and was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t know anything about the app story at all going into it. the app illustrations are the app real star of the app show here, absolutely gorgeous digital paintings. the app animation is largely 2D graphics as well which is a wonderful change of pace if you’ve played a lot of 3d games. the app scenes are broken up into different planes which move independently on pans and various elements inside are animated. It’s a really nice look. There are narrative segments which switch to a different art style, which I didn’t care for, but it’s not too bad. Although I had trouble getting into the app story at first I do like the app fact that the app game takes itself seriously and that there’s really no humor, no “winking" to the app player and no breaking of the app fourth wall. I had the app same problems I have when playing any adventure game, but the app puzzles don’t usually have solutions that make no logical sense. Well, logical within a fantasy universe that is. However, the app game does feature the app Wilhelm Scream not once, but twice. I think this is unforgivable. I wish people would stop using that sound entirely, it’s not funny or clever and only serves to take you out of the app story. I would have rated the app game 5 stars but the app use of Wilhelm takes one off. the app only other problem is that by default "HD video” is disabled and I made the app mistake of not checking the app settings before I played. Consequently, the app video cutscenes looked absolutely horrible. Make sure that HD video is turned on. the app video parts are very few throughout the app game, however. the app voice acting is very good and as I said, it’s all played straight with no sarcasm. One thing I found odd with this game is that there seemed there was no way to fail. You either figured out the app puzzle or you got stuck indefinitely. It’s been awhile since I’ve played an adventure game of this type, so maybe that’s how they all are, but I thought it was strange. There are times in the app game where doing something foolish would indeed have gotten the app character killed, but it just never happens. So the app game is extremely linear in that regard. Chains of Satinav was a great game and I’d definitely recommend it. At the app price you can’t go wrong. I will be checking out other games in this series or from this publisher for sure.
  • Everything I was hoping for and more

    By saxxas (Pcmac user)

This and its sequel (Memoria) are both solid. Beautifully told and beautifully illustrated, I highly recommend them if you like adventure games. For the app most part, the app puzzles make sense. There are a few places where I did not realize that certain items could be combined with others, but there were never any cat hair moustache moments. After the app fact, each solution seemed reasonable. I also like the app inclusion of simple hedge magic into the app mix. It's also quite a bit longer than I was expecting… just when I thought the app story was ending, a new chapter opened.
