What is METAL SLUG X?

"METAL SLUG X" is a 2D action-shooting game that has been remade from "METAL SLUG 2". The game features new elements for more fun and excitement, including new weapons, bosses, and enemy characters. The game also offers an "Arcade-Perfect" NEOGEO Port with extra features, precise and customizable controls, and multiplayer gameplay via Wi-Fi. The game is compatible with "GAME CENTER" and offers achievements to increase the player's rank.

Game Features and Description

1. New weapons, such as the "Iron Lizard" (remote-controlled missiles), the "Drop Shot" (bouncing landmines), and the "Enemy Chaser" (homing missiles), have been added to the impressive METAL SLUG arsenal.

2. In addition to the classic “ARCADE MODE”, you can select any mission you have previously cleared and play them separately in “MISSION MODE”.

3. The Autofire function allows you to fire continuously by holding down the Shot button.

4. Moreover, you can change the position of your configuration outside of the game screen area in “Window” Mode.

5. Now you can enjoy “METAL SLUG X” with a friend through a Wi-Fi connection.

First, the good: the game truly is a perfect port of one of the greatest standup arcade games ever made. The downsides are the touch controls are less than elegant and the MFI controls, which would be perfect, don’t map correctly on many devices. Only the jump and shoot buttons work on my two Steel Series controllers. No grenade button. That said, the mapping on my 8BitDo SNES game pad is perfect! Perfect. And so is the playing experience. 5 stars for joy—minus one for imperfect device mapping.
Control issue

I like that this game is remastered as an app for my phone. However, I'd feel better for my purchase if they controls would be fixed. The movement stick doesn't allow for my finger to move out of the range without stopping the character. The range of movement should be expanded or else I'm playing a game where I'm trying to move and get flanked with grenades because my character stops moving.

When I first found this game on iTunes, I was ecstatic, my childhood game that I used to play all the time was finally available to me through an app. But when I started to play it went downhill fast. First, it's not even optimized for the iPhone 6 so the game itself looks smaller, and second of all its extremely laggy for some reason. It takes him longer than it should just to jump, and the music is awful sounds like someone's who's tone deaf was autotuned. Smh. Please fix these things, make it better.
Great game

Always a great game. Controls are a bit choppy it's easy to do one thing at a time. But can't do do two things, can't jump and shoot at the same time and when in a slug you can eject because of trying to jump and shoot. But the only problem with this game.
