Software Features and Description

1. In 1928 Maurice Martenot created one of the first electronic musical instruments, entitled; the Ondes-Martenot, the prerunner to the theremin, similar in sound but with a very different type of user interaction, an inspiring slider on a cord was used.

2. The E Theremin has two oscillators that generate a rich fat analogue tone, with a choice of 5 waveforms (saw, square, triangle, sine and theremin wave) octave shift.

3. This app is inspired by early classic slider controlled synthesisers such as the Ondes-Martenot, Trautonium and Tannerin/electro-theremin.

4. Later in the 1950s Paul Tanner invented the Tannerin a.k.a. Electro Theremin.

5. The Tannerin used the same slider controls as the Ondes-Martenot to control pitch.

6. The E Theremin can achieve portamento, vibrato and quarter-tones with precise control.

7. The Tannerin went on to play a large role in records such as The Beach Boys “Good Vibrations”.

8. – Ideal for professionals looking for an alternative to the keyboard controlled synth.

9. Vintage Electro–Theremin, Onassis Martino style synth.

10. – Great for anyone interested in synthesizers, particularly early analogue.

  • No Sound

No sound on IPad Pro 13.2.3
  • too basic

It's too hard to use. You have to hold your finger on the gate button the whole time. You can only cycle through wave patterns one by one in order with a single button - you can't go back or skip to what you want like you can with a knob. And I don't see how it is much like a theremin - no similarities in the controls or sounds.
  • Would be cool if the gate button was also volume control.

Otherwise this is just a novelty app. Has potential to actually be used for making music but the volume can not be adjust during play.
  • Sounds Could Be Better

    By Isaac May (Pcmac user)

The UI and controls are nice, but the sounds aren't very reminiscent of either type of Theremin. Would love to see something with a little more than just two oscillators, and something that has more of the Theremin sound!
