1. The user stores distance between home plate and pitchers mound in settings.The user waits for pitcher to throw the ball.

2. Speed is calculated as distance divided by time, and displayed in miles per Hour.

3. Pitch Speed calculates speed of a baseball based on a very simple formula.

4. Pitch Speed is an app for coaches and baseball fans.

5. A button is pressed once when pitcher releases the ball.

6. The same button is pressed again when the ball hits the catcher's mitt.

7. A history of measured speeds is saved by the program, and the app allows you to email the list to yourself.

8. The program meaures the time between the two events.

9. It takes a little practice, but after a few minutes fairly good results are obtained.
