  • Not worth the money

    By Napping bear (Pcmac user)

Go to their website and download the freeware version before you spend the money. This is a half price intro offer for something that will run the same cost as Motion and is FAR LESS useable. While this is an easy to use package, it is extremely limited, especially in the fact that you cannot import video into it, nor can you export from it in a format that can be used to overlay video in FCPX. This means that you are essentially limited to working with still images, with no way to combine that with video. In my opinion, you would be FAR better off to buy Motion and learn to use it than paying even half price for this package. Realistically, this is nothing more than a $3.99 toy priced at a premium.
  • Works Just As Described

I've been using this app solid for 3 hours and no hiccups at all. I watched the first tutorial video then jumped in with a blank screen. I have used their CleanApp for years and it's also robust, that's largely why I bought this. You can try it in demo mode if you download it from their website. I'm running OSX 10.8.3 and it's solid. It's powerful enough for me yet easy to learn. Note: Use a black background and overlay this movie in Screen or Lighten (try your own mode) and it /will/ make nice overlay titles for your videos. Or just use a solid background and don't try to overlay your videos, it's just a title.
  • Really Buggy, waiting for Support and I will repost

    By AdamoGraphics (Pcmac user)

This is my first ever review on the Mac App Store. I’ve never been so compelled to write a review. A couple weeks ago I downloaded Synium’s Logoist. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with it. Fantastic, also felt like, but didn’t, write a review. Because of how great that software was, I purchased this app. Many issues with this software. 1) Next to NO training or tutorials. The ones I could find, even within the app, seem to point to an older version. The youtube tutorials are mostly very unhelpful and attempted trainings by people that should not be in “training” others. After much surfing around I still have very little knowledge on how to get the program to do the cool animation things I think it’s capable of. 2) Started having an issue with my system where my cursor would jump, lag or freeze up altogether. I have a year old MBP and contacted Apple Support, besides a half day of troubslehooting, Activity monitor and so on.. Started really questioning whether or not this was related to other apps I recently decided to try out.. Logoist and Tumult’s Hype. It’s clear to me now when I use this app it is the cause of my machine being brought to a screeching halt practically. 3) Last thing that pushed me right over the edge.. thought I would toy around with it at work today. We are pretty slow and I could mess around in between work tasks. Clean boot on my MBP. Launched this app and went to File: Open Recent and there was my file (stored on my desktop) I was playing with yesterday. I tried to open it and it told me this: The Document could not be opened. This "logosit” document has been created with a new version. Then it dawned on me after I contacted support.. this file wasn’t even created in Logoist! It was created in this app. And it shows up in the this app Recent Files. Can we say BUGGY?? When I clicked ok, it froze up my system. I had to use my lagging and jumping track pad to get into Activity Monitor after 5 minutes of being froze.. then kill the process of this app. Immediatly my machine is back to normal. Until I hear from Support I am going to dive into Logoist and Hype a ton and see if I have ANY issues with my track pad or system or memory.. processes whatever. I will post back on that as well. FYI.. Machine was really gone over by Apple Suppport and myself to try and discover issue with bluetooth, system, etc.. and my Mac book is really running great… until this app is launched. Perhaps it’s simply not ready for Yosemite, but as you can see it says it has fixed Yosemite issues with this version.
  • Animationist is very creative.

    By M_Kuhnen (Pcmac user)

I have always admired software engineering from Germany. this app proves how creative the folks at Synium software are. this app is perfect for beautiful titling for any kind of video project, from Keynote to Final Cut Pro. In other words, it is great for consumer programs as well as professional video layout programs. It is quick, and delivers. If you are on a budget, this is the program you can afford. Disclaimer: I am not part of the Synium engineering team. I am just a budget minded creative who appreciates good engineering. Kuhnen.
