What is BeerSmith Lite?

BeerSmith 2 is a home brewing software that has now come to iPhone and iPad. The Lite version of the app allows users to view, time, and carry their recipes on the go, but not edit them. The app is integrated with the desktop software and cloud recipe service, making it easy to view recipes on the go. The app also includes a brew day timer with step-by-step instructions and notifications, a beer style guide, ingredient reference, and brewing calculators and unit converters.

Software Features and Description

Download and install the BeerSmith Lite app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "BeerSmith Lite"
The search will reveal the BeerSmith Lite app icon. Open, then click "Install".

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Great potential

This app has some great potential as soon as the big are worked out of it. I just upgraded my lite to the full version. I would have liked to see the icon change to the full version after doing so. It would have probably benefited the app to run a beta for more user input and fix programming issues. Other than that I am extremely excited to write recipes on the fly, which will be so much better with easy accessibility.
Better than I expected

I've used the app for over a year and I'm still amazed how powerful it is and how much better my beer has improved because of it. I have been waiting for the mobile versions to come out so I can make more effective use of the Cloud. What is very cool about the app are the Tools. Even though you can't (yet) edit recipes, you can make mash & infusion calculations on the fly. That alone is worth the price of the app. Thanks Brad! Looking forward to the full version!
Great App

Don't know why people are mad at this app. As a long time the app user this is the perfect companion. Read the description. It's not meant to stand alone. Quit being cheep and then complaining because this isn't what you are looking for. If you have the app on your Computer this thing is awesome. Don't know how many times I've forgotten my recipe and wished I had it at the LHBS. This makes it that much easier. Plus the timer is great. Awesome app. Can't wait till the full version is out.
Good resource

Overall this app is a handy resource tool for calculations and recipe inspiration. Only downside I've found is in majority of the recipes they don't add great instructions for the brew such as amount of time in fermentation, secondary and in some cases the recipe calls for kegging and doesn't give you a sugar to add for bottle carbonation. But those things can be found by trial and error would just be nice to take out the guess work.
