TripRider for Pc

Can do the same thing using notes. Have to manually add everything. No link to your contacts to import travellers. No link to tripit or other travel app to import booked itineraries. No link to map apps - can only add a picture you take of a map. Should have tried the lite version before I bought this. I does have a place to hold everything and can export as a nice book. But I quickly tired of all the tapping.

This is the app I have been searching for. It is the most complete app for travelers I have ever found. Planning, tracking expenses and keeping a travel diary, it’s all here.

I am really liking this app. I am planning to attend 2 motorcycle rallies this year and have started planning with this app. My first will be in 3 weeks, so I'll try to post again after I've used the app from end-to-end. I'm glad they recently added capability to customize the packing list. Since I will be camping, that really helps. A word about budgets, estimated costs and expenses. This was the biggest thing for me to learn about Trip Rider. The "budget" is a single figure you enter for the trip as a whole. Then, as you do your trip plan, you'll indicate "events" for which you enter "estimated costs." These are categorized by event types specified by the developers in the trip plan section. Then, as your trip proceeds, you keep track of expenses using expense categories, also specified by the developer. I also did a detailed budget by expense categories, saved it as a PDF and imported it to the wallet area. (But I'm kinda detail-oriented about accounting stuff.) I had an email exchange with the developer about my accounting issues and was very satisfied with the responsiveness. If you have issues or features you'd like to see, just let them know. Since most of my travels now are "road trips" and not air or cruise, I'm looking forward to seeing how the tracking feature does. So far I am quite impressed with Trip Rider.

It has so many features and i used most of them on my last trip. LOVED having pre-saved maps available for the towns i visited, as i seldom had wi-fi. Had all my confirmations handy when needed. Enjoyed the currency conversion so i could know what the trip cost me in dollars. I will use the packing list i created for future trips and then just tweak them a bit. I used the diary feature and attached 3 photos and emailed it to friends/family each day of the trip, so they could hear what i was up to. The only improvement i would suggest would be for the ipad and iphone apps to sync with each other. It is a hassle updating one device and then looking for it later and realize i am looking on the other device that wasn't updated. I am not the first person to ask for that, so i hope the makers will get that done soon.
