  • App Support & Enhancement Requests

    By billingdl (Pcmac user)

It looks like consensus is the app needs more features. I have to add my vote to that, as well. One of the features I do not see in the app is how to quickly place the thermostat on hold, and preferably, by a single touch of a button on the same screen as where you can adjust the temperature. The other big feature area that is missing is to be able to create new and edit existing programs. In addition, your APP SUPPORT link in the Apple App Store on the 'Reviews' tab for the app, just above where the reviews display, on the right hand side, does NOT take you to a the app Support page for the app, nor to somewhere from which it is easy to find a support page for the app. I was not successful in finding Support when I attempted to do so. A good app design includes a link within the app that goes directly to a valid support resource or opens an e-mail message addressed to a Support e-mail address. Your app does not. In addition, there should be a direct link within the app to submit feedback.
  • Racket to Steal Your Money

    By Chemneo (Pcmac user)

Another racket from a decent American company to steal your money. The rule is "HVAC" is generally build on the principle that you must pay to these companies hundreds and thousands of dollars just to bring you the worst technology possible. But hey, I am being "unfair." Anyhu, nothing to add to other reviews, server errors, banality of the unit that they sell it for "$300" and its crappy iOS app. Remember I called a racket? All these things are perfectly known to the corporate. the app is a proprietary system. So technically your Nests and Ecobees whatnot are noncommunicating units. You may be able to install them, only if you spend time/money etc, and the results could be good or disaster outs. But your honest hard working HVAC tech will tell you to buy their better S30 or E30 models for $600. Again, they, HVAC companies and techs, hate Nest, Ecobee etc. read their forums. Just sign up for a the app tech account and see. How you are swindled. If you own the app, you have to deal with these burglars forever. EDIT: after multiple failing units, my gas bill is now 2x. This unit will make sure that you would waste as much gas as possible. Even with their so called multistage blowers.
  • Does what it’s supposed to

    By rbernat (Pcmac user)

We got this app/thermostat with a new HVAC system that has a variable speed motor. I haven’t had any connection or logout issues like other have stated. So far we’ve only used the furnace, not the AC. The new system has eliminated the hot and cold spots in the house that we used to have. It’s nice to be able to remotely turn the system back on a few hours before getting home after being away on a long vacation. What would be really nice is a geo fence feature, and being able to set up a program from within the app. Also should be able to view outside temperature from within app. Integration with Siri would be nice too.
  • Functional but...

    By RayY.. (Pcmac user)

This review is for both the iPad & iPhone versions: Rating for iPad version: 3 out of 5 stars: The iPad version is superior to the iPhone version in that it has a more modern looking UI that is very similar to the actual touchscreen thermostat. All the controls necessary to adjust the temperature, fans, and seasonal programs are available. However, I can't adjust edit the season programs or adjust the humidifier. Rating for the iPhone version: 1 out of 5 stars: The iPhone is downright crude compared to the iPad. I cannot edit the seasonal programs. My biggest gripe is the horribly outdated UI aesthetics very reminiscent of pre-iOS 7 elements with respect to fonts and buttons. I would suggest a landscape mode that can more accurately replicate the appearance and functionality of the physical touchscreen. Whoever is in charge of App Development or Product Management at the app either doesn’t give a crap or is constrained by the upper management that doesn’t want to spare the expense to update this app. If the latter is the case, this reflects very poorly on your customer service. Know in this age of smartphones, the quality (or in this case, lack thereof) of your apps does make/break brand equity. What’s up with this “as long we have a (minimally) functional app published, that’s all that matters” attitude?
