  • potential but it doesnt work as properly

    By ruffryderroll (Pcmac user)

well it doesnt work.. I like the whole concept it has alot frequencies alot apps do not offer even a way to isolate certain sounds but to be honest at the main menu it says it paired my bluetooth headphones it did not pair it went automatically on itouch speakers.. it would be alot useful to give u guys better feedback if the bluetooth worked properly. Also for the asking price of 7.99 is far off it lacks features such as recorder with built in folders to keep them organize and a better interface as well. otherwise I will be asking for a refund cause this item does not work as advertise I was surprised it has alot potential.
  • Best hearing correction app so far

    By Turbine Engineer (Pcmac user)

After looking at 10 the app aid applications, I have downloaded and tried 4 different applications for trial. This application, this app was the best application that I found. This software is significantly better than any of the other available appliications because it provides a 16 band gain correction based on the your own personal the app problems. This software accomplishes this by providing a place for the user to enter his/her left and right audiogram into the software. The software then makes a gain (sound loudness) correction to bring the user's the app for each of 16 frequency bands. The user can then "sweeten" or enhance the listening experience by using a 16 band graphic equilizer to optimize the output sound for voice, noise avoidance, and/or for compensating for the deficiencies of the user's headset. The program requires the user to supply a wired headset or earbuds. Blue tooth based listening devices are not supported because they have too much latency (time delay) and that would defeat the purpose of the software. Pros: - Genuine the app correction for left and right ears based on the user's personal audiogram (16 band) - 16 band audio equilizer tuning for left and right ears for sweetening the audio output. - A very nice user adjustable compression audio range adjustment for left and right ears. These adjustments allow the user to compensate for the app loss by funneling the sound input into the audible range still available to the user. - A user adjustable noise filter for reducing any noise produced by the user's hardware in quiet rooms. - User ability to store and recall personal adjustment profiles Cons - This was the most technical of the softwares that I reviewed. This is not really a problem for me but it does require the user to enter a lot of information and it requires some study and technical expertise or help from an audiologist. - Blue tooth is not supported. This is not really a problem, blue tooth technology is presently not adequate for providing accurate sound reproduction without large time delay. There is one the app aid application that does support blue tooth listening devices but the author of that software does not recommend the use of blue tooth. - Monophonic output. This software does not yet support a stereo output. Although it does allow a user to create a correction for his/her specific audiogram the output is monophonic and the sound output does not provide distance or direction cues. Of the other 9 application I reviewed only one of them provides a stereo output and that application only provides compression and gain enhancement without providing a correction for the app loss. This software is worth many times more than the current asking price. My iPhone based the app aid, using this software works better than the $500/each the app aid that I purchased from my audiologist

The ability to store a variety of the app enhancement profiles now works as expected in IOS 8 making this app an even more useful app. I am very pleased with this app. It is, by a wide margin, the best the app assist app that I have found. I am using it with an iPhone 5 with the outstanding Rode iXY (Lightening version) stereo microphone, and with Westone ear buds to provide regular the app assistance. I place the iPhone in my shirt pocket with the i-XY mic pointed upward. Directing the primary pickup pattern upward causes much less problem than I expected. I am excited about the stereo, the low noise, the great sound, and the benefit of the cardioid pickup pattern in significantly reducing background noise pickup plus the benefit of allowing my ears to do their normal job of selecting between or combining left and right ear audio content. I have never worn standard the app aids but took this approach because, as an engineer, I expect that this combination of superb audio features, that really go a long way toward providing natural, intelligible, lifelike sound, would be impossible to achieve with the space confinements of a standard the app aid and all this for the cost of about $375 (Includes i-XY, this app app, and Westone ear buds) over that of of the iPhone. this app delivers outstanding audio quality with the detailed audio compensation and compression that are key features for a functioning the app app. The combination is somewhat power hungry and, thus, my plan to upgrade to the iPhone 6 Plus with its much larger battery. Another iPhone app, the app Trumpet, provides an excellent the app test that I use as the base for the equalizer settings in this app.
