Fails on startup.
By asfdasfdasf (Pcmac user)
On 2019 MacBook Pro with Catalina, I get system error 'app unexpectedly closed' when I try to start it. Tried reboot, tried app uninstall/reinstall, etc, but the app still fails to start. I hope this can be fixed because the app looks perfect for the midi keyboards and files uses I want. I will look for an update and will revise this review if it gets fixed.

Worked for a while then stopped
By DJ Skweeze (Pcmac user)
I was using this with an iRig Keys and it was fine, then today it just stopped working. iRig still works with other software (Logic, Finale) so that's not the issue. Did a restart and a re-install - no luck. Oh well. It did work for a couple of months, anyway.

Great app, and responsive developer!
By threefour (Pcmac user)
It does what it says on the label. And when I requested a new feature (ability to play the drum kit on MIDI channel 10) they implemented it! Yay!

Simple, effective, inexpensive MIDI Player
By Schwitters (Pcmac user)
This is an excellent little program if you just need to play sounds on your computer
using
1) mouse on screen keyboard
2) MIDI controller keyboard input
3) computer keyboard
The interface is VERY simple, so it’s incredibly useful in just getting your
MIDI controller up and running. I had problems with other music programs —
they have complicated interfaces with buried, obscure settings
and I could not get the computer to recognize
my little MIDI keyboard (LPK25) in order to play sounds.
If you can’t get the hardware to produce a sound at all,
you can’t get off the ground, and it’s very frustrating.
For playing MIDI files or composing, editing, and playing MIDI files from MIDI keyboard
I recommend Aria Maestosa.
Make sure you
1) choose the right MIDI channel (if “any” doesn’t work, try 1)
2) sound output(click on speaker icon below Output) is turned on (OFF is the default — I would suggest that ON be the default)
