  • Minor UI issue

    By DHampson (Pcmac user)

Great method of confirming move and attack. Needs same confirmation method for placement. Several times cards get dropped where I didn’t want them. I’ve also had issues where reading card text triggered abilities that I didn’t want. Some of these will go away as I learn the cards, but it’s a barrier to learning the game. Other than that, it’s worth buying the decks. Pass and Play works great too.
  • Not a good marketing tool

    By Bleu Whale (Pcmac user)

This game gets a lot of love among reviewers. Split opinions on chat boards. I wanted to see what it was about. The app itself was clunky, with some uncertainty on how things should be done. The absence of a random deck option, especially when against an AI opponent, is disappointing. Moreso, this free version is meant to engage me with the game and encourage me to buy more decks or to buy the tabletop game. The Phoenix Elves, the only free deck, appear to be a blunt and unstrategic race. The AI is very simple, I won my tutorial game and every game thereafter, so there is absolutely zero push to understand the intricacies and nuances of the game. Is there a fun game here? Maybe. Lots of people seem to think so. Am I going to spend more money to find out if it will be worth it? No. Not inspired to find out more. Perhaps I would have paid 2.99 for an app with several decks unlocked, and perhaps that would have been a better introduction.
  • Great game, problematic app

    By N3CKBEAR (Pcmac user)

This game is very simple, elegant, and fun. The app is troublesome though. It crashes when trying to play online, when trying to buy in-app purchases, and during other screen-changes. It also seems to misclick from time to time, resulting in frustration. I'd definitely buy all the bundles if I could, and would play online. Sadly, it crashes. :/
  • Combat fantasy strategy board game and cards

    By Marriedwkidsworking (Pcmac user)

Worked best on iPad Air and iPad mini. Works good on iPhone 5 but due to limited screen space on the phones the UI can become very cluttered. If you like card battlers like Magic the gathering mixed with a grid board for strategically moving your units against opposing players this is it. It's theme is fantasy there are various decks such as thieves, mind control mages, ogre decks etc. There are spells and enchantments and add a welcoming layer of challenge. There's PVP online and offline. Solo players will love the PVE but 2 of the in app purchased add on decks do not have AI built for them (benders and thieves). When solo playing the enemies AI may take a minute to respond on his turn. Not game breaking but could become frustrating. Also to unlock all decks it will cost you about $8 is it worth it yes but it's not for everyone give it a shot if you like it unlock it.
