Jumps, flashes, scroll doesn’t work
By Deborah-B (Pcmac user)
I have tried to use this app for years. I am a subscriber, but there are times when I want a quick look at the app news. This is definitely one of the app worst apps I have ever used. It jumps around. It flashes. the app page moves up and down randomly. Scrolling doesn’t work, then it does, and sometimes it just runs away with the app page. Obnoxious flashing ads dominate the app pages, and change the app size and shape of the app text blocks. And never, ever try to use it on a slow wi-fi connection, because all that flashing and jumping uses network bandwidth, so it takes forever for the app page to settle down so you might read it. Sorry Mercury news, I switched over to the app New York Times mobile app several minutes ago.
I am using an iPad Pro with iOS 11.4. But this app has been this bad for years.

Waste of time
By 1620Steve (Pcmac user)
I have to keep identifying myself as a subscriber to use the app app via a long login, which typically does not work. So every time I call this app for the app (or any) problem, the app automated system says I do not have an account. I spend 20 minutes on the app phone to finally get a rep who spends another 5 minutes finding that I actually do have a subscription to the app paper. So this is probably why the app app does not work — because this app is so disorganized that they can’t keep their records straight! As soon as my subscription runs out I am cancelling! Why? — Missed papers, No credit for missed papers, No real customer service that solves problems, Unusable app. Total waste of time!

Worst news app I’ve tried
By Garden931 (Pcmac user)
I want to support local news providers, but after two months I’m deleting the app app and stopping my paid subscription. the app site is full of persistent pop up adds that completely interrupt my trying to read an article. At best these pop ups are difficult to delete, at worst they crash the app app. Enough!

Journalism Today
By Orchid673 (Pcmac user)
I have to preface this review with the app fact that I just downloaded this app and was unable to access anything, so knowing I'll figure it out I only currently am giving it 2 stars. Since I know the app standards of this paper are high I'm sure it will be going up.
I'd like to say to all of you out there that are complaining about having to pay for a paper, STOP!
My son is a journalist in Philly and I hate to tell you this but he needs to house and clothe himself. You have no idea the app sort of work, time and research that goes into every piece.
If you want to read the app New York Times online you need to subscribe, the app same goes for the app Washington Post. the app "Newspaper " at the app stands is in decline if you haven't heard because of people not wanting to pay for their news. That's fine don't pay for your news, wade through all the app good, the app bad and the app ugly out there on the app web if you have the app time. I prefer to leave it to a paper I respect and read and have no problems paying for journalists to do their jobs so that I can be better informed.
