  • Very Bad: Underlying calculations inaccurate

    By alwaysmprest (Pcmac user)

Short Version: this app needs to do basic arithmetic to figure the cycles, and it is several days off on the cycles. Really Dumb Mistake. Whether or not you are comfortable with this "New Age-ey stuff", insurance companies' number crunchers noticed decades ago that accidents occur most frequently for any person with a predictable periodicity from the date of birth: popularly called biorhythms. The cycles are a sine wave: half up and half down. The points where the body "shifts gears" (from up to down or down to up) are called "Critical Days". We humans have slightly more accidents on critical days, and insurance companies care about their money. The physical cycle is 23 days, emotional is 28 days, and mental is 33 days. Physical and emotional are from accident statistics, and the mental cycle was noticed by a teacher who saw that his good students would do worse on tests than the average students, if the good one was on a down cycle, and the average student was on an up cycle. Starting in the 60's or 70's, Japanese airlines made sure the pilot & copilot were not both in critical parts of their biorhythms, because it leads to poor judgement while flying. This app doesn't correctly divide the number of days alive by the length of the cycles. The emotional cycle is 28 days long (4 weeks), so it always starts on the same day of the week and this app is 3-4 days off.

I use this daily to get a sense of rhythms for the day. It would be better if I could see future forecasts. All in all I enjoy this app.

My go-to bio-R checker. Compare with other people before pick travel dates, and then take a screenshot, all set for the month.

Enjoy the app, I have enjoyed biorhythms since I used to chart my own with colored pencils and homemade templets. Do wish the day would update automatically.
