Install Icon Slate app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Icon Slate on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Icon Slate"
The search will reveal the Icon Slate app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Icon Slate is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Icon Slate.
Now enjoy Icon Slate on PC.

Does what it says it does.

this app is super easy to use and it worked perfectly for me. I needed to create some Windows icons, which are basically packages of bitmaps (png in my case), with the file extension “ico”. The ico file holds all the different sizes of your the app, and Windows picks the one to use based on context. That might be an oversimplification, but for my job, that’s all I needed to understand. You could get a Photoshop plugin to “complie” the ico file, but this app, which is a stand alone app, seemed easier, and it did the job of compiling the ico package very quickly and intuitively. I should mention that I tried the free Sketch plugin of the same name, but I couldn’t get it to work. So I paid the five bucks for the stand-alone app, and I’m good to go. I should mention that this app does a lot more than what I used it for.

Hasn’t been updated for the last 3 years so a lot of the app formats are missing.
Needs updating badly...

Used to be the leader in the categoty but its let itself go. No updates in 3 years is just awful.

Before this app, I was using Apple's the app Composer, part of Xcode. What bothered me about this is that I had to drag all the other App's I didn't need and usually the file was huge. Even the new version is somewhat of a drag. So I'm thankful for an alternative like this app. this app is fantastic. Much better in my oppinion then the app Composer. My only gripe with the app is that it's crashed on me a few times. For small little things. I hope this bug is crushed in the next update because I'm really digging this App. With that said, kudos to the developer for giving us a nicely designed and much better alternative to the app Compser.
