Software Features and Description

1. - iTunes Backup: By default, we will not backup media data when you do iTunes sync or iCloud backup, and you can't see the files in iTunes, you can enable it in the settings page to backup your media data.

2. At the bottom of this page, there’s a “File sharing” section – just select GPlayer in the list, and add files from there.

3. You wish you could play any video file on your iPhone/iPad, no matter its format? that's why we made GPlayer.

4. To add files to your GPlayer app, you have to go to iTunes, and select the “Apps” tab.

5. - USB Sync: Use itunes to fast sync movies to GPlayer.

6. Note that you don’t have to sync your iPhone or iPad to iTunes to add movies.

7. - AVI(without packet-b frame), WMV, RMVB, ASF, H264, MKV, TS, M2TS... most of all movie file formats.

8. The other iDevices have limited computing power, and cannot handle the complex task of decoding HD movies in real time.

9. If you want to use GPlayer to open HTTP/FTP streaming, add "gplayer:" prefix in the URL.

  • Has always worked perfectly for me!

    By Oragami Master (Pcmac user)

I have had this App for several years and it has always done exactly what I need it to! Being able to wirelessly transfer video content to my device is very convenient, and the in app video functions such as the 15 second swipe gesture is great! I think my only complaint is that when you leave the app for any reason it seems to open and refresh and will not save your place in a video. That however has never been a huge problem for me personally, being that it only takes a second to scroll to where I left off. Overall, you get a lot of functionality and options for media transfer and playback, easily a five star rating in my book!
  • Need to fix the bug ASAP.

Second time rating this app. First I have to say it’s still my favorite app. It supports importing a folder directly from my Mac, which means I don’t need to spend time managing all the pics and vids into a neat order. Much more convenient compared to VLC since it doesn’t support viewing pics. However, there’re something I need to complain. First, some avi video cannot be played, which I believe it not the issue of copyright or something since they were captured by my own camera and I compressed them. VLC could decode them and play them, so I’m not sure if it’s a problem. But it’s just annoying. Secondly, all the files are in a seemingly random order. I’ve arranged all the files on my Mac in the alphabetical order, and they’re “perfectly” disarranged when I import them into this app regardless of the file size, name or anything. I’m totally confused and it’s a HUGE problem for me since I need to scroll through all the files to locate the one I wanna pick up. That’s terrible. Really need to fix it developers. My devices: iPhoneX and iPad Pro 10.5 2nd gen both run IOS 11.2.5. Love your work. Please make it better after all these years.
  • Bad bug

    By Sneefle (Pcmac user)

iOS 12 iPhone XS - most of the time, rotating the screen, which triggers the video player to change orientation, will crash the app and you will lose your playback progress, etc. very frustrating. Sometimes doesn’t happen, but often does. Seems more prone to crash after watching several videos in a row. Memory leak? iOS 12 iPhone 8 Plus - had downloaded many videos by using "open in" and choosing this app. That adds them to the folder "inbox" on the iPhone. Today I tapped the button "use iTunes backup" or maybe it's called just "iTunes Backup" on the app, on my iphone, and it instantly deleted the entire inbox. iPhone storage info shows this app using only app space (around 45MB) and no documents/data. Very upset. Used this app for years, since I think iPhone 3G.
  • Best video viewing app

    By HHH3993 (Pcmac user)

Of all the different apps I’ve tried to watch my downloaded videos on, this has been the easiest and most hassle free to use, you can set up increasing the play speed which is my favorite and what I really needed. The only downside is that the files don’t get arranged how you’d like them to be, like there’s no option for alphabetical or numerical order, and since I’m watching board review videos, not having this can get pretty annoying when I have to search where the next video out of 100 will be
