  • Better in some ways, worse in others

    By Ericdcompton (Pcmac user)

This is still a great app, considering the information you get with each plant and the hi res photos of different species at different seasons, growth stages, roots, etc. It has become glitchy though with the latest updates. The biggest one that gets to me is when you click the warning symbol to see what could be dangerous or maybe a poisonous lookalike, it shows the warning and there is no way to get out of that warning screen. You have to force kill the app and open it back up again, starting over from the beginning. This is annoying, but it’s still the best thing I have come across in either an app or physical book. There are other books on ethnobotany that are more extensive in species (I think one is even mentioned inside the app somewhere), but those books don’t have near the amount of usable information or various photos as this app does. I’m still very happy with this app and hope it never becomes unusable due to iOS updates without app updates. I just hope the little bugs are fixed sometime.
  • Critics Are Misguided

The critical notes about the technology really miss the absolute wealth of information here that guides the amateur and expert foragers. All of the images and more information that you could hope for all at your mobile fingertips while you’re out and about on your the app adventure. Unimaginable just a few years ago, and unparalleled in breadth of information, this app is a vital resource to keep in your pocket on your next woodland hunt.
  • Great resource!

By Magic Rainbow Doctor (Pcmac user)

This app is awesome. A must have for being out in the field. In one of the more recent updates, as other have said the warning info pops up with no way to exit. Quite annoying especially because it was not so in earlier versions. Would be great to see this fixed.
  • Very bad experience

    By Kazuar05 (Pcmac user)

I bought the premium version, but it did not work for me. The pictures failed to download. The app seemed to originate an error report, but it was impossible to have it actually sent to the deliver. Moreover, I am not able to use the app at all because the error report blocks my access to all the other features. I think there is a lot of useful information and the app could be very helpful if it weren’t so buggy. I had to delete the application after paying $6 for it.
