  • My Goto Reference

    By Millersburgian (Pcmac user)

I'm an IT Professional and this is my goto reference app, especially for legacy equipment. Some of the key features are being able to lookup RAM on the fly, what OS X or iOS a system was shipped with, the latest iOS or OS X a device can run, as well as the all important Apple classification of "Supported, Vintage or Obsolete" Thanks so much for including build and model numbers with all of the various generations of product lines. It's worth installing just to take a trip down memory lane with a history lesson regarding such groundbreaking innovations as the 10th Anniversary Macintosh, The "Cube" i.e. The Power Mac G4 Cube, and especially the xserve line which I'm still heartbroken over losing. One last thing. Get in touch with the developers of this app if you find this program usefull! I did.
  • Amazing app for Apple Collectors

    By OMG_REVIEW (Pcmac user)

I’ve been using this app for at least 12-13 years now, and it’s been indispensable for me. I find myself referencing it constantly for my vintage Apple collection, to determine what upgrades I can put in them, or what their maximum OS can be. The only gripe that I have is there is no syncing between multiple installs or the mobile apps. This could be accomplished with iCloud or Dropbox sync, and I hope it will be someday. Please send Ian a donation if you like his app.
  • Data is great, app is not

    By Kokubu (Pcmac user)

This is an impressive collection of data about every electronic device Apple has ever made. Unfortunately, the application itself is poor in many ways. The scrollbars don’t work right, the outline view doesn’t work right, the toolbar doesn’t support its normal features, and you can’t even resize the window to be the full height of your screen. It’s like they went out of their way to make it work wrong. And macOS provides all this core functionality for free! What happened? This would have been better as a Numbers spreadsheet, or a folder of CSV files. I don’t know why I need a second-rate viewer for a small, static database.
  • Taken for granted

    By Dougb4 (Pcmac user)

I don’t write many reviews, but I feel like it’s necessary to let the creators and maintainers of this app know that I really appreciate this reference program. I’ve used it without thinking about it for years. Every time I need to know about memory or bus size or model numbers or any number of other compatibility issues, this app is there for free. Maintained for free. Thank you.
