"Howler Timer Review"
By Gigantous_Guy (Pcmac user)
I ABSOLUTELY love this timer!!! It meets my timing needs. In fact I lvoe it so much that I got rid of another timer that I had which had a quality about it that I rather liked which is it would stay on the menu bar at the top of my computer monitor screen which I wish this one could do too. However, with how great this one still is for me, I cannot dock this app even a partial star because of how it suits all of my timing needs. The howl really does sound like a wolf howling at the moon! The countdown of the last ten seconds with duck quacks was a nice surprise too. If you can and woulld, it would really be greatly appreciated by me to have in an update where this app can stay on the menu bar at the top of my monitor screen then that would be great. The only way that I would ever rid myself of this great app is if I'm forced to in order to free up some memory on my computer. Here's hoping that that never happens. Thank you EVER SO MUCH for making this terrific timing app!!! I GREATLY appreciate it!!! Please keep up the wonderful work that you are doing too. It is MUCH appreciated by me!!!

Don’t Let the Name Deter You
By tvjames (Pcmac user)
One thing I miss about my PC is the paid version of TimeLeft (I actually have multiple licenses). I wanted a similar program for the Mac and was surprised to find this one - free no less. I almost passed this up because of the name, thinking it gimmicky. But no, this is a solid little program that lets you countdown (to a set number of hours/minutes/seconds or to a specific time). You can run multiple timers. And you can pick a sound effect beyond the wolf howl or crow caw (any Mac sound or any sound you’ve loaded yourself). While I normally use Bartender to hide all of my menubar icons, this one has earned a spot on the menu bar - when you click it, a small drop down shows you all the timers and how long each has left. Disclaimer: I have only just downloaded it and started up three timers, none of which have elapsed yet. However, I’m already really impressed.

I love you.

I just downloaded this app because I am severely distractable and therefore never get anything done. (I’m also prone to exaggeration. lol) So I decided to use a timer to remind me when its time to move on to the next task. I love this app because it is simple enough for me to figure out how to use right out of the box. The wolf just now told me it is time to step away from the emails and move on. No obnoxious alarm. Just a five second countdown to a quiet but perfectly audible howl. I highly recommend this app to anyone who like me loves technology but but needs it to be simple and straight forward.

pretty solid, no-frills timer
By glyph! (Pcmac user)
the app is great for when I am working and I just quickly need to set a couple of timers on my Mac. Many other timers seem to need to do weird things with non-standard mouse-only UI controls, and the app's no-nonsense, simple window means I can quickly set timers, stopwatches, and alarms from my keyboard with convenient and familiar navigation shortcuts.
I do wish it had more features; it would be lovely if it could synchronize with my phone or watch, for example, let me choose the font (the default monospaced font is a bit ugly), hide extraneous UI elements for a more minimal look while the timer is running (always showing the text entry area is a bit superfluous). But overall if you need a timer that just counts down the time, this is the app for you.
