  • Regular user

    By Sevikha (Pcmac user)

I use the app very often, mostly for graphics design together with Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo. And it’s very helpfull for me in instances when perfect proportionate size, alignment, distance are not automatically (with snap function) achievable in complex situations without an additional tool such as this app.
  • Very useful!

    By dsimcox (Pcmac user)

This inexpensive app is very useful for me. I am able to use it to accurately measure features on a product image. For example, I use SnagIt to copy an image of a product and enlarge it. Then I determine the length or width of the product in inches from the product description. Next I use this app to measure the known dimension in pixels, and calculate the custom scale factor by dividing the width in inches by the number of pixels. This factor is entered into the Zoom box on this app, and I change the Unit measure to “in”. Now everything I measure on the image is scaled by that zoom factor, and I can directly read the measurements in inches. This app is simple to use and never in the way. It’s simply an overlay for the screen, and its visibility can be toggled with Cmd + H. I wish I could get it to work when my browser is in full screen mode, but I haven’t figured that out. But by taking a screenshot using SnagIt, I can work around this limitation.
  • PixelStick onscreen ruler vs. all the others

    By Rush Head (Pcmac user)

Seriously, if you need/have the use for an onscreen ruler this would be the one you want to seriously consider. Besides being relatively inexpensive for an application, the functions don't compare to the other Mac onscreen rulers out there. I have tried all of them, too. $15-$45 gets you a ruler that you can't read, the user interface is so bad you can't find the actual measurement, some rulers don't float on top (what the hell's the point of that??), some are too much eyecandy like trying to look like a plastic grade school ruler again, that you can't read the measurements. All a waste of time and money. this app is the real deal - easy and straightforward-to-use interface for realzy. Just download it and compare to the others - it's a no-brainer.
  • Still going strong!

    By Urecoth (Pcmac user)

(NOTE: This is actually a review for Version 2.10.1, released June 4, 2017) I’ve been using this app for about four years now, and as it is an app with a singular purpose, you’d want it to do that job well. And iit has done its job well. The latest update (referenced above) also fixes a few nagging issues with Retina screens, such that the circular guidelines were drawn larger by mistake. In fact, the response from Plum Amazing was, well, rather amazing — within a day of reporting this core functionality error, I was in contact with their support team and the programmer to help hunt down the problem. The whole process from error detection to new version download was a mere three days. Truly, exceptional customer support!
