Software Features and Description

1. Time machine is wonderful, but it makes a mobile Mac user cry- waiting for a backup to finish or cancel before we rush to a meeting makes life difficult.

2. unDock adds a simple but critical piece of functionality to your Mac- an "Eject All" shortcut with super powers.

3. With unDock Lite, each time you use the hot key combination or menu trigger, the first removable disk will be ejected.

4. When you're ready to go, use either the keyboard shortcut (default: Control-Option-Command-Space) or the menu bar icon to unDock.

  • Does just what it says, simple and easy.

    By KangarooBox (Pcmac user)

I use this app to the app from my Time Machine backup and it works great. Every once in a while I find myself needing to the app multiple connections (network, USB drive, etc.) which this app doesn’t do. If you need that capability you should get the full version of the app, it disconnects multiple drives simultaniously. However, if you just need to disconnect a single drive, this app works perfectly.
  • Doesn’t really eject the drive

    By jwvanderbeck (Pcmac user)

I just downloaded and tried this, and unfortunately I have to say it does not work. I have one USB volume that I have to eject almost daily, and it gets annoying going into a Finder window to do it. I downloaded this app and tried using it to eject the drive. I clicked on the menubar icon and chose the app Now! It pops up a notification saying it is working, then it pops up a message very briefly saying it can’t unmount the drive, and THEN it pops up another message saying it successfully ejected the drive. But the drive is still mounted!
  • Functional, but a little misleading.

The name of this app is *this app* but the product discription is more for the app than this Lite version. The first two-and-a-half paragraphs talk about the app. The next one-and-a-half paragraphs *then* mention this app and it's limitations. It should be the other way around, as in more typical product descriptions. That said, it does what it says it does. In the style of the Mac App Store, the icon jumps from the page to the Dock, and you see a progress bar depicting installation. Very cool. However, the actual funtionality is invoked via the *menu bar* icon, not the Dock icon. Launch it via the Dock icon but use it via the menu bar. So it does what it says it does-- select *the app Now!* and the first of your mounted removable media is ejected. Rinse, lather, repeat. The paid *the app* will unmount all removable media with the initial click. this app is more of a demo app than anything as it's no easier to unmount one, two, or three items than it is to highlight those items and Ctrl-click. This is not a five star app to me, as it does nothing steller in function nor is it steller in execution or interface. It's a taste, not even a full demo, pure and simple. So I give it three stars, because it's ok, but it isn't much. Of course if I buy the app, then it's a five star app for the dev.
  • Exactly what I needed

I have a time machine drive hooked up to my external monitor and it's annoying to unmount it when I want to disconnect my Macbook Pro to use somewhere other than my desk. Now I have an easy keyboard shortcut to eject and go. Everything what I needed, nothing I don't.
