Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Server unavailable

    By Qrt42 (Pcmac user)

Update to previous reviews: The comment immediately below still applies. In addition, and as noted by other users, I frequently get a server unavailbale message, so it cannot update the weather. Also, there have been some weird display issues - in particular, sometimes the 3 hourly forecast shows under daily forecast - and vice versa. I note that the app has not been updated in 2 years, and the Vimov twitter feed has not had any posts for almost 4 years. It looks like the developer has just given up. Maybe time to look for a new weather app - a shame. _____ Addition to my original review: Periodically the drop down menu stops working and I have to restart the computer to get it working again. This seems to happen in particular when I make a change in the main app, such as adding a city. ______ I have weather for both the US and UK set up. A UK town is set as default. Imagine my surprise when the temperature icon was lit up in red indicating a severe alert even though it was sunny outside. I went to the app and saw that the sever alert was for a town in the US, but the actual text said that there was a severe thunderstorm over Scotland OR over a town maybe 100 miles away from the town in the US. The app obviously gets confused. Sort of wish I hadn’t bought it on sale over the weekend. Also, the main app needs a complete overhaul. It is rather ugly, and the animations add nothing, but instead get in the way.
  • After “Temps” turned off their service...

… I was forced to go looking for yet another weather app (I used Degrees Pro before that and it quit working as wll). this app is very nicely done. I like the layout and dropdown that is displayed when you hover over the status bar icon. It displays all the information I’m interested in in the full screen mode but it would be nice if one had the option to display a second parameter in the status bar along with temperature—for instance, humidity or wind speed (for pilots). But this is simply a request—the app itself seems to do everything it listed in its description. Very nicely done!
  • Great App but wish it would follow my location

    By Shas96 (Pcmac user)

Love this app as i can see the temperature outside with a quick glance. I live and work in different cities and I currently leave it set to my work city to pull weather data. I would live it though if the app could automatically detect my location and provide weather information where ever i happen to be without having to switch it manually in settings or adding the other city and still having to click on the menu bar.
  • Great app but a little off ...

    By yufasa (Pcmac user)

Raining right now and the app is showing Mostly Cloud. It is a small radar footprint so maybe just an anomaly and that brings me to: I would like to be able to manually control the radar map play bar (time). Hitting play and waiting for it to scroll around is so 1980 guys! Just let me scroll back and forth by using the trackpad or here is a really good idea: Use the touch bar of my new macbook to allow me to rock and roll the time for the radar map!!!
